Rogue felt a small sense of relief overcome her when Kurt didn't show the disgust or fear she had grown accustomed to at the height of anti-mutant sentiment. In fact, he seemed to appear more comfortable than before and that wasn't a reaction she was used to from humans. Her face softened and she shook her head, not at all surprised that he had faced his own discrimination. "For what it's worth," probably nothing considering all that had happened, "I think you would've really fit in, in New York." It had certainly had it's own problematic places but there were a few others that welcomed people that had been different. "There were a few mutant friendly clubs that were a blast. It attracted ones with physical mutations so you'd see people with feathers, scales, different kinds of skin coloring like blue or red, hell, I think I even saw someone whose skin glowed." They hadn't technically been old enough at the time to get in but a few of them had powers that were perfect for sneaking into places.
Regardless of him being human, Kurt felt like what it was to be the outsider and that endeared him to Rogue. It also helped that he had taken to her being a mutant so well. She grinned and held out her arms for him again when Kurt stepped up to her. "Maybe you guys could be the entertainment for the Halloween party in that case?" Live music had to be better than recorded ones, she didn't even know what kinds of CDs they had lying around. "Or just a few numbers so you guys still have time to dance with everyone else." Lorne might get in on that as well, she missed his singing.
