Who: Nora, Shannon, Tara, Rebekah
What: Handling their business
When: Friday Night
Where: Dick's place
Warnings: Violence. A lot of violence.
Unlike her maker or her brother, there was no bloodlust in Nora. Not their kind. She didn't relish the sound a ribcage made when you shove your fist through it to rip out a beating heart or the feel of twisting off someone's head. Most of the battles that Nora enjoyed took place in Authority chambers over cups of tea. But just because that was her preferred form of war didn't mean she shied away when called upon to fight. After all, she too was a child of Godric.
All of Nora's nerves were expended the night before they went to battle in the course of two breaths: one deep breath to let it all in the fear, the anger, the helplessness beginning with Eric being kidnapped the guilt over not recognizing just how big of a threat Dick Roman was, rage over the fire at Fangtasia and how close she'd come to losing her entire family in the course of one evening, being taken from her home just as she'd finally made a breakthrough in her research not to mention the hell of her captivity. She took it all in felt every inch of it and then, in the next breath slowly let it all out until there was nothing left in her but the cold, sharp logic of a crystal clear purpose - Dick Roman and his kind were going to die tonight and Nora was going to do whatever it took to help ensure that happened.
As her team approached the hospital Nora could feel the same sort of determination in her companions. While she was fully aware of leading Tara and Rebekah she did not fear for them because she knew just what they were capable of and they didn't need her to coddle them. Shannon wasn't known to Nora but Nora had encountered more than one slayer in her life. She recognized Shannon's kind for what they truly were: killing machines in the disguise of young women. She was confident. Not that the fight would be easy or that there wouldn't be losses. She was only confident that they would win.
