Who: Selene and OPEN What: Watching nothing happen Where: The wall over the gate When: Now Warnings: It's Selene. Anything else TBA
Selene had read the plays from an original folio. She'd seen some of them performed at the Globe. She never thought she'd see alarums and excursions in real life. But there they were. Will would be proud.
Since she'd taken to the prison wall, no more leviathans had tried to get in. She'd considered responding to Roman's postings on the network, taunting him in to an attack. She had some new ammunition she wanted to try out, and if nothing else, there was her sword. Eric hadn't had any trouble tearing the creature apart, he just hadn't followed through with the bits of body. She had several experiments in mind with her chipper, thermite, and some other hot-burning chemicals. Then there was acid... But drawing an attack toward the prison didn't strike her as the brightest idea. That thought was on hold until they didn't need her to watch the gate.
Connor seemed to be ignoring her request to be put back on the prison side of the network, but there was enough from elsewhere to keep her slightly entertained. It probably slipped his mind with everything else going on. Nobody seemed interested in talking to her. Probably still an aftermath of turning Frost. Her fledgling was making her proud, standing guard faithfully outside the prison. She made a mental note to mention it later. If there was a later. Taking Laurie and heading east was a possibility, but probably wouldn't do any good if these creatures weren't stopped. Anyway, she had never cared to run from a fight. It seemed to be up to the people with magical experience. Like Willow. Who was also ignoring her since her last visit to the house.Selene wondered if Willow'd had second thoughts about becoming a vampire and thought that would anger her. Life goes on. A shame; a redhead would complete the set.
So she savored her copy of the Burton translation of The Arabian Nights, leaving her guard post only occasionally for water or a bite of food. At least there were no more people attempting to sneak out. There were even a few other vampires on patrol, although even they hadn't acknowledged her lonely vigil. She let the regular sentries take care of any zombies that showed up and remained inconspicuous, but as ready for anything as she could be.
