"You wanted to do what everyone wanted to do. Find the mole. Oust them out of the prison so they couldn't make us more vulnerable. You just happened to be the one who did it, and what happened next wasn't your fault."
She was plenty angry. There was so much anger and a thirst for vengeance in her that she was practically breathing fire. She had plenty of blame to go around, but she couldn't hold her sister to blame for Vera. No, that belonged to the mole, to the ones working with Roman, and most of all to Roman himself.
"I want him to burn, Lissa. I want the mole to burn. I want to set this place on fire, but I'm a water user. I'm a shadowkissed water user who couldn't even slow him down. But you don't get to own Vera's death. Not only on your shoulders. All of us couldn't save her. We all watched."
Jill's tone was sharp. Everything inside her felt cold, and she wanted to burn. She wanted the world to burn.
"STOP." The yell surprised herself. "I can't lose you too. If you crumble or give in to your grief, I will not be able to survive it too. I need you. You're my sister, and I need you so stop this. Stop it now, Vasilisa."
