Who: Robin and Dean
When: Tonight
Where: Prison yard
What: Awkward conversations can't be avoided forever
Warnings: I honestly have no idea
Even if it probably seemed as if Robin was avoiding Dean, the reality of the matter was that she was essentially avoiding anyone that wasn't Ellis or Jax. Even with them there were days that she essentially kept to herself, though, and she wasn't sure how to pull herself out of whatever hole she was burying herself in. Robin was hating sleep because of the dreams that came along with it, and that caused her to stay awake for too many hours on end to ensure that she wouldn't dream. It didn't really work, but it didn't stop her from at least trying. Cigarettes were once again her best friends, and it was easy to use them as an excuse to spend time away from her cell.
Not that she was ever short on reasons to not be at her cell, though. She spent a lot of time working on the towers, or wandering through the prison, or just spending time in the yard. Robin was becoming a pro at busying herself with one thing or another. Jax had a tendency of finding ways to stop her from isolating herself completely and, while she grumbled and complained about it, deep down she was very grateful for it. Not that she would easily admit it, but she hoped Jax knew her well enough to know that.
Tonight, though, she was on her own. She had finished her shift an hour ago, and after a quick shower and grabbing something to eat, Robin stopped by her cell to pick up her cigarettes before heading out to the yard. She was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she didn't see that Dean was walking in just as she headed for the door. When she registered that he was suddenly right in front of her, Robin stopped in mid stride just as he did and just paused as they both stared at each other.
How had they gotten to this? This awkwardness, this...whatever this was?
"Hey," she attempted as casually as possible. "Hadn't seen you in a while. You alright?"
That was okay to ask, right? She hated herself for even wondering that, because she had sworn she wouldn't find herself in a situation like this ever again, but...well. Now here they were.
