Rebekah was getting bloody well sick of everyone hounding her to undo the compulsion she placed on Stefan. Even Niklaus was now pounding on that drum and Elijah didn't even have to say anything, he could say it all with just one judgmental look. The only sibling who seemed to be amused by his sister's antics was Kol. In the past Rebekah had always been closest to Nik and then Elijah but lately she had been having a lot of fun with Kol. He was the only brother who was never pushing his own agenda (that most likely revolved around those fucking dopplegangers) on his little sister and she appreciated him all the more for it.
She had stuck to the rules. She had taken her revenge without killing him when killing Stefan was oh so tempting. She had hurt him the same way he hurt her. Only instead of being encapsulated in concrete he was being forced to keep his distance from big brother Damon lest he kill his girlfriend. It was the perfect most fitting punishment that didn't involve death. Rebekah had no plans for Elena to die either. She knew there was no way that Damon wouldn't get in between Stefan and Elena before she could be killed. Not that Rebekah would exactly shed a tear if something unfortunate were to happen to Elena. But even though she had killed her once, she wasn't looking to do it twice.
She would undo it when she was damn well good and ready to and not until Stefan sucked up a little bit. So far the only thing she had heard from his worthless little mouth was pointless threats. It was his friends that had implored her, that had asked for her mercy. She was waiting for Stefan to come around but since he hadn't perhaps it didn't mean as much to him as it did to his friends. Rebekah had learned in the last couple years that Stefan had many faces and not all of them were as nice as he would have you think. Some of them were downright psychotic. If Stefan wanted to play who was the bigger psychopath she could always indulge that game as well.
For now she was content to let him suffer, away from his brother, his friends and his slayer. She had her own life to live and as she sat on the plush sofa in her luxurious living room you wouldn't have even been able to tell that there was a zombie apocalypse raging just beyond her door. The world was changing as she had watched it do for centuries. This was just another turn in the tide.
She smiled when she saw Alec come in from the front door and she stood up, placing her magazine to the side and greeted him with a kiss. "Hello, love." She was in a good mood but she so often was when he was around. The one person she could count on to never betray her. He was perfection and he was all hers.
