There was a lot weighing on Angel over the last few weeks and he found that it was beginning to consume him. Find a way to get rid of Glory or stall her so the ritual couldn't be performed. The conversation he'd had with Buffy had left him feeling more determined because he refused to have her continue to feel she was going to have to sacrifice herself again. It simply wasn't in the cards and there had to be another way. There were more of them this time to protect Dawn and they knew more than the others had the first time.
Meeting up with Gunn was something he needed to do. They could search for Glory and beat up some zombies while they were at it. Zombies weren't a big release but if they came across a hoard then it would be better than nothing. Angel hadn't had a real fight in a long time and in order to keep his sanity or from losing it completely, he needed that release.
Arriving at the gate, Angel waited for Gunn to appear. He smiled and hugged the other man before they set off. It was good to see him and it reminded him of old times. Simplier times that hadn't seemed so simple at the time.
"It's good to see you too," he said. "How's life treating you at the prison? How's Claire?" Angel hadn't officially met Claire, but if Gunn liked her then he knew he would too.
"I thought we could start on the east side of town to search. I've been seeing more of her victims coming in from that direction, so it's a good of place to start than anywhere."
They walked side by side for a while and Angel kept his ears open. There was a stake in his coat pocket and he had an axe in his hand to handle the zombies if necessary. They didn't come across too many vampires that needed to be put down, but Angel never left his cabin without one.
"How's Connor been?" He asked after a moment. He hadn't spoken to his son as much lately mostly because they had so much on their plates, but that never kept him from worrying. Connor was exactly like his father and took on way too much.
