Thor was not going to allow Tony to endanger himself any more if the suit was no longer capable to function properly. No amount of eye rolling or quip would persuade hom otherwise. Steve was determimed to keep fighting and steer the beast away from the civilians and he agreed that was likely the best course of action. They all caused distractions to keep it at bay and then he knew it was time to make their move to leave.
He fired on it again with all the energy he could muster and flew up to slam the hammer into his bac. Hard. The creature groaned and whipped back his hand to swat Thor out of the sky, but this time he avoided contact. Tony was blasting with what was left on the suit and the Captain did his own attack. When it was clear they had it moving away from the prison, Thor landed next to Tony.
"It is time for us to fall back," he said and didn't give the other man much choice in the matter before lifting them both up in the air and flying a safe distance away. They were still in visible and hearing distance with what was going on, but Tony needed to tend to his suit beforw they resumed their fight. Steve would alert them if they were needed back immediately.
He tried energizing the suit again, but the power wasn't lasting as it should. His head whipped around when he heard the beast roar out in anger. This pleased Thor and he smiled a bit. "The beast is angry."
It was best that he left when he did otherwise he would have been witness to his fire friend suffering injury at the tank's hands.
