Who: Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America (NPC'd with player's permission)
What: 3 Avengers vs The Tank
Where: The woods
When: Tank Day
Warnings: Zombie violence?
Tony had been in his cabin when the ground had started rumbling, for a minute making him wonder if this was it and Glory had managed to somehow win without them knowing. Without hesitation, he had been quick to jump into the Iron Man suit and fly out to where the commotion was. It hadn't been hard to find the enormous zombie tearing through the woods, though; it was easy to find it by the trail of torn down trees and general destruction it was leaving in its path.
"Jarvis," he asked as he paused for a moment in mid flight. "That's not..."
"My readings do not indicate this to be Doctor Banner, Sir."
Hearing his AI confirm that it wasn't Hulk in zombie form was a small comfort - because, let's face it, part of him would always wonder, and he was glad that Jarvis knew what he was wondering without having to actually vocalize the fear - but it still left him trying to figure out exactly what the hell they were facing. Were the zombies growing? Was this another one of Glory's minions? Tony had already encountered a few of those, had told Natasha the locations; was this yet another one they had to deal with under that category?
As Iron Man flew in closer, though, the monster must have heard him because it was quick to whip around and throw a tree in his direction. Quick to dodge it, Tony began shooting at it but it wasn't making any damage. Not how he had wanted to - if anything, the damn thing was just getting pissed off. "Any weaknesses you can see, Jarvis?"
"Scanning current readings, none seem to be apparent at the moment. Its speed and strength are quite different than--"
The rest of the sentence wasn't heard as Tony was sent flying back as The Tank managed to catch him with one of the trees it tossed his way. The world became a blur for a moment as he tried to regain his bearings, but he didn't have to wait for long because a sudden roar from The Tank made him speed up the process. Especially as it started to move closer, heading in the direction where he had been thrown back to, but before it approached him the sight of Captain America's shield making contact with The Tank's head was enough to catch his attention. And, from the roar it followed, Tony guessed they had just managed to piss it off even more.
"We need to keep him away from the general population," Steve indicated, and Tony just nodded as he got back in the air. Could they manage to maintain the situation contained in the woods?
God, he hoped so.
The sound of lightening filled the air then, and Tony didn't have to glance up to see that Thor was flying in.
"Welcome to the party, Big Guy," Tony greeted as he shot towards The Tank with a repulsor ray from the gauntlet. "Maybe you can fry this uglyass sucker."
Because, from the looks of it, they were going to need a lot more firepower than what they were throwing its way to get rid of it.
