Thor wasn't wrong in that he wasn't fine, and by the looks of it Steve didn't seem to believe him, either. Not that he could blame them, especially as he seemed to sway for a moment once he was back on his feet. His lip was bleeding, and there was a particularly nasty bruise beginning to blossom on his cheekbone, but Tony looked more annoyed at being knocked down than actually hurting.
The question about the possibility of the monster being The Other Guy, though, made that annoyance lessen and he grew serious instead. Even if Jarvis had said it wasn't him, and that he agreed with Thor that it was probably some sort of mutation, a part of him couldn't help but still wonder as well. That hadn't happened to their teammate, had it? This wasn't Banner, but would that happen? Could it happen? "I'm guessing," or hoping, "that The Other Guy wouldn't allow himself to be bitten. I don't think we need to worry about that."
Hopefully he sounded more convinced than he actually felt. At the mention of retreat, though, he frowned.
"I think the suit can still fly," Tony argued. "I don't know if it can shoot--"
"No, Stark," Steve responded firmly. "Thor is right, you are in no condition to continue fighting. That thing is distanced enough from the prison now, so they should be safe."
Tony rolled his eyes, but sighed. It was until that moment that it fully hit him how crushed the suit was, as he realized how hard it was to really actually breathe, and he felt his shoulders sag as much as the suit allowed. "Okay, maybe you guys are right. No need for all of us to stop, though. You guys can keep fighting it. I can find my way back just fine."
And he was serious. He just needed to kick start the suit and make the jets of the boots work. He would remove the suit altogether, but part of him wasn't sure how much of his ability to stand was thanks to the fact he was still wearing what remained of the armor. He wasn't in pain, but he guessed part of that was due to the adrenaline.
Neither seemed convinced to leave him alone, though, and Steve immediately asked, "Do you have any injuries that need to be looked at? If anything serious happened--"
Now Tony was the one that interrupted. "Nothing I haven't dealt with before. Seriously guys, it's fine."
