Imagine that. Brothers. It was the kind of thing that would drive Faye crazy with jealousy if Diana were nice enough to share the information with her. They were so different and her relationships with both of them had been so different that it had never occurred to her to check for a family resemblance. Even Diana had been different, in a different place when she had met them both.
After Chance Harbor Diana had been on the road with Grant, they had made it until about Virginia before being overwhelmed with news of the infected. They were young and scared and Diana hadn't wanted to rely on her magic. She had always been so careful, so cautious. And now that she knew she had Balcoin blood, dark magic in her veins she was even more cautious. She might have been John Blackwell's biological daughter but she was still Charles Meade's daughter too. Then again, he had proven himself to be just as diabolical as Blackwell in the end. He killed Cassie's mother. Could Diana be good when she was surrounded by evil?
Grant was good. He was a beautiful bright spot in her otherwise dreary scary life. That was why she had run away with him. Him with his sky blue eyes and his charming accent. She loved the accent. But Grant wasn't as strong as she was and when they had been overwhelmed by zombies, Diana hadn't used her magic, hadn't thought fast enough. Grant had been taken down quickly. There were so many zombies he didn't even have a chance to be turned into one, they simply descended on him and devoured him. Diana would have been next if it had not been for a certain vampire that pulled her free from the zombies, killed them all with the speed of lightning and carried her away.
Klaus had been Diana's introduction to vampires. He was charming, she loved the accent of course. She had traveled with him for awhile and he had educated her about vampires and encouraged her to open herself up to the darkness inside. In return, she had given him her virtue, something she was planning to give to Grant had he lived, something she had tried to give Adam if they weren't interrupted by Circle drama every five minutes. Klaus had been surprisingly gentle with her and every day she grew to trust him more. That was until he got word about his sister and they decided to part ways. Diana wanted to head back to Washington to check on The Circle.
She had met Haruka in the middle and traveled with the Japanese girl for awhile and they had become good friends. Haruka was heading up to Washington too, some place called Everett which was close enough to Chance Harbor for them to travel together. She hadn't expected to be pulled roughly away in the middle of the night. Kol had taken her by surprise which was why she hadn't immediately used magic on him. It wasn't until he had dragged her a good distance away from Haruka that she finally turned on him, using the full power of her dark magic to send him flying through the air. She thought the act would earn the vampire's wrath but instead it seemed to amuse him. Her relationship with Kol had been largely antagonistic in nature. They were constantly pushing each other to see which one would snap first. And then of course there was that accent.
And now somehow the three of them had found themselves in the same city and she had discovered that the only two men she had ever been with were brothers. Yep. Faye was sure to be jealous. Diana would have to save that one up for a rainy day.
She sat herself down at one of the booths at Fangtasia and ordered herself a drink as she waited for Kol to join her. She was curious about this family of vampires and he had promised to spill.
