Who: Jeremy and Malachi
What: Answering Shannon's radio/net transmissions to find Bonnie
When: Sunday right before it becomes a blizzard
Where: Prison then wilderness
Warnings: cursing probably
It was only by chance that Malachi heard the radio distress call after he had failed to be able to answer the net post that Shannon posted. He was just about to open his mind to see if he could reach out and find Bonnie, when he heard the radio of one of the Sentry workers go off. Well, alright. The girl sounded in distress, and Bonnie was out there as well. He caught enough from opening his mind to realise that there was a team set out to go after Shannon. His instincts told him if he headed to the sign out sheet, he would find Bonnie's boyfriend there ready to find his recently discovered cousin.
If only his mother was still here now. She would be able to go faster to where Bonnie was, and give Malachi a better idea which direction to go in. Instead he was going to have to tap into his own magical abilities to locate this new found family member. "Hello, Jeremy. I believe you and I are buddies. Let's go find Bonnie shall we?"
The other man had weapons, so Malachi didn't mother with any of his own. There was literally nothing out there that he couldn't use his magic to destroy if it dared get in his way. The look of determination on his face made it clear it would be a very bad idea to get in his way. He reached out to Buffy's mind to leave a telepathic message of his own, even if she couldn't respond the same way. "Bonnie needs assistance. I'll return as soon as I can. Be safe, Love."
They walked side by side out of the prison and out of the Sentry gates with determination. The other team was going one way, based on the radio signal or whatever they used to locate people. Technology wasn't exactly a witch's tool of choice in a search. "It's beginning to come down hard. Let's be quick about this. If they're going that way, let's go the opposite. If they're separated it would make sense to follow the opposite path."
Malachi was used to leading and he wasn't entirely worried about offending Jeremy by pushing on toward his own idea. His magic senses was completely open. Searching through various energy sources to find one that pinged him as familiar. He caught a trail and began to walk quickly through it, drawing his finely tailored black wool coat around him as he did so. Thank God, he had managed to salvage some of his wardrobe from home. He doubted what you could find in town would keep him as warm as his own clothes did. "She's using her abilities. If you can keep us covered with the weapons, I can stay focused on her magic trail until we find her."
He was optimistic of course. Despite how quickly the weather was changing. Malachi wasn't one to give in to failure, and he was positive he would be able to locate his cousin and Jeremy's girlfriend, then they could take turns lecturing her about leaving her buddy. Buddy. He shook his head at the thought. Even if he realised how important it was not to go out alone, he found the word ridiculous. Perhaps Bonnie had as well, and that was why they were headed in the opposite direction of the other rescue team.
