"It's not really up to me," Isabel explained. "I go where my family is. And Max, my brother, he's in charge. He says where we go. I'd be perfectly fine out here but he worries." She could only imagine how worried he was right now with her out in the storm and him being inside the prison. She wanted to be hateful and say he was probably too busy with Liz but she knew that simply wasn't true.
"It's never going to be just me. I don't want it to be." She hated being alone for all that time. She needed Max and Michael in her life and it wasn't fair that she could only have one of them right now. Liz wasn't exactly a substitute although Isabel had grown to love her sister in law over the years.
"Are you on your own?" She looked over at him curiously. His eyes still looked haunted to her and she figured that he had someone or maybe someones he had lost in the past. Nobody wanted to be alone. Isabel couldn't believe that. "I mean what about the beautiful vampire lady that made you into what you are now? Is she around?"
They were his words but now she was trying to picture whoever this vampire woman was. What she was like. What had made her change another human, another food source into a predator like her.
