He listened with curiosity running through his veins. Most people considered the prison where all the good people lived. Toby didn't buy it. The prison was where people went to hide their past and pretend to be good people. They banded together for strength in numbers. Not that he didn't think Spencer and Emily were good people, but it was pretty hilarious to think of either of them living in a prison. Nearly as funny as knowing Spencer worked in a vampire's bloodwhore house.
Oh how times had changed.
When she asked if he was thinking of moving in, he laughed outright. Ezra, the real one, would have. He'd probably moved in, started a class and began dating one of his students until Aria showed up. No, Toby had no desire to be confined.
"Not really a people person. I know some vampires live there, and I guess they have a lot of self-control. I'm still finding my way, and I don't like being told what to do."
He brought the bottle back up to his lips and took a swallows, eyes still locked on her. When he swallowed and lowered the bottle, he rested his head against the glass door. "Personally this is a time o anarchy. Everything is being broken down and will have to rebuild again. The last thing I want to do with my moments of freedom? Is waste it trying to fit in with a bunch of people who are probably lying about who they really are. I like being me."
Of course he knew the joke was, he was lying about his name. It was just the rest he was being truthful about. "Would you rather stay in a place like this and provide for yourself, or go back and conform to their protocol?"
