"It's good?" Duh. That was the deal with the chocolate and the hot sauce. It was her answer whenever she was out and her friends asked her what was up with her adding tobasco sauce to her ice cream. Because that was too fucking weird even for one of the popular girls in school to get away with. Then Isabel just stopped caring about popularity.
She finished eating and looked around but there wasn't much. If she was a normal person none of it would have worked but since she had the trick with her hands and she could heat up a pot of water for noodles. There was always stale cereal and stale crackers around too. She would get by. The storm had to clear up soon.
She walked past Ezra. The house was actually pretty nice all things considered. It wasn't as nice as the house she had grown up with in Roswell but it wasn't without its charm. She stood in front of a pair of sliding glass doors and watched the snow pile up against the glass. It hurried and swirled around in strange patterns.
"This weather makes me miss the desert." She missed their old open top Jeep with the sun beating down on her from above. She missed the strange allure of the barren sandy landscape. There was just something about New Mexico that made it magical. Maybe that was why they had landed there.
