Steve was happy to be able to bring someone good news. Bucky had agreed to move in to his cabin and out of the projects. He'd been able to find the cabins that Jondy wanted. Tony had been focusing on the prosthetic leg with his added features for the young slayer who had lost her leg, but Tony didn't ever work on just one thing. Trying to expand radio communications held a lot of possibilities for getting in touch with fellow survivors. He was sure that part of Tony wanting to help also had to do with trying to find his own best friend who was in the military as well.
Being able to possibly give Emily a chance to talk to her parents was the perfect test for the project. It would allow a soldier and his wife to have concrete proof their daughter was alive, and it would bring some joy to a girl who was managing a hard life and not even complaining that her parents were working to help others instead of being there with her. This was the sacrifice that military families made after all.
She was greeted with a smile and a bit of a blush. "I'll settle for them being able to give some hope to others that we may be on the verge of getting the military a way to put survivors in touch with each other, and maybe even working on a chance to contact Canada one of these days." He wasn't ready to give up on the states, but if Canada could be convinced to take on more survivors, then Steve would escort as many as possible there himself. If Canada was indeed a safe place. Who knew what was safe anymore.
This business with Glory had made him think a lot about all he had bore witness too since waking up. The aliens had been something he never imagined possible, and now they had zombies and Hell Gods on top of vampires and other soldiers like himself who had been enhanced to be perfect. There was nothing perfect about anyone, but he hoped he could find a way to unite their abilities with the others in this city to send this so called God back to hell with as few casualties as possible.
"I think Tony thinks possibilities are limitless. His mind is extraordinary, and he'll be the first to tell you that." It was said with fondness. He and Stark were still getting to know each other, but he had a great appreciation for what the Stark mind was capable of. He just felt sad of what had become of his friend Howard's. "How are things with you? Morale at the prison?" He spoke as vaguely as possible just in case someone could be listening in. Steve didn't want to tip anyone off on something they shouldn't know after all. He probably should have felt they were being watched, but the problem with there being other soldiers out there created to be just like him?
They knew his moves too and they could be just as silent when they wanted to be.
