What: BBQ to celebrate the Fourth! And fireworks when dusk falls!
It was a rather lovely day for the Fourth of July. The sun was out and high in the sky, shining happily. White fluffy clouds peppered the sky, but didn't do so much as to block the sun. Two barbecues were set up and grilling rows upon rows of hamburgers and hot dogs, and the scent wafted through the air. A table was set up nearby with a white and red checked tablecloth slung over it. It had stacks of paper plates, bags of buns, pitchers of juices of various kinds and bowls of salads (pasta, potato and regular), as well as a large platter of sweets on the end. Brownies and other squares galore, and sugar cookies with red white and blue icing.
Mr. Shaw was manning one of the grills, and Mr. Wright the other. Jadyn had, on his, laid out some veggie dogs and veggie burgers for the few vegetatians in the house, him included. Or just those who liked to go for a healthy choice. A stereo was set up nearby and music spilled from it, perky bouncy summertime songs.
