"Un-real." It was about the only word she could manage to get out as she had taken to explore the institute on her own after she had spoken with Professor Xavier about her current life situation. Nothing like showing up with your entire life in a duffel bag and fairly certain you are the cause of your parents murder to get a bit of sympathy and a place you can actually go to school. While the little Ozzie had never been to an actual academic establishment, she doubt that anything was even close to being this cool.
She did not have a room yet but she was not opposed to having a roommate, or a bunch of them. It had been awhile since she was in a close community, not since she had left the Wujal Wujal. This could be her new safe haven--which was much, much larger than any place she had ever lived in before in regards to the size of the buildings. Yindi wandered out back and to the courts which were mostly empty at the moment. She figured kids were probably in class.
Later on today, she would probably be able to pick out some of the classes but Yindi really had no idea what she would be good with. Was there something like Swimming or Meditation Outside? Anything where she did not have to take tests or write essays or any of the stuff that other kids have complained about before? Yeah, kids, she was going to have to call everyone kids since she was clearly the oldest freshman that ever came through here. Seventeen, which was also a legal adult, and she was going to be with the kiddies.
The paved basketball court made her uncomfortable; she never much liked the feeling of asphalt or concrete underfoot. As she walked behind a basketball hoop, Yindi wandered off onto the grass and sat down to untie her shoes. Without hesitation, she laid down, face towards the sun, hands and arms outstretched and comfortable. The grass seemed to perk up all around her as she did.
