Who: Havok; tag Cyclops
When: Friday, September 19th, 2008 (Evening)
Where: Mansion; Garage.
What: Handywork and talking.
Status: In Progress.
Rating: PG.

Alex threw the screwdriver nonchalantly on the stainless steel table, it rattled loudly ... the tool rolling on its black handle until coming to an abrupt stop. He grumbled softly, narrowing his eyes at the main power grid that was housed underneath his x-jacket, having taken it off to finish some repairs. The cold air inside the garage was welcomed by Alex, a small bead of sweat trickled down his temple as he contemplated the situation. "If I could..." He was already speaking to himself. the bright white fluorescent lights of the garage made his eyes squint. They were bitter companions. Alex leaned over the table, his shadow across the subject of his experiment, studying the main circular panel. Ah, the leak had come from the loose main panel. Probably from too much sparring and heavy usage.

He gripped the screwdriver and went to work. The circle tightened onto the fabric and again onto the steel framework underneath, sealing it shut. His jeans scuffed the floor as he walked around the table and picked up the suit, holding it up in the light, the rib and the shoulder lines leading into the main power grid were subsequently loose, the tubes were outside of the main conduit. "Can't be good." Alex sighed again and threw his suit on the table once more, a thud rang throughout the garage as he leaned against the table with his arms. It was going to be a long night.

Of course he didn't need Scott's help. He was HAVOK! The faintest of smiles touched Scott's lips when Alex muttered the ironic bit of sentiment. Bro. Go figure. Well, it wasn't lost on Cyclops. The bespectacled man grabbed a nearby work stool and eased up into the seat, letting his arms rest across his legs as he leaned forward. He sighed out the deep breath he'd taken and his eyes followed Alex's hands. Aside the fact the the boy was working in the garage when other places would've been better, he wasn't doing too bad. Scott's mouth twisted to the side and he raised his eyebrows with a dash of pleasantry, "Have uh, you and Lorna spoken recently?" With Alex's restlessness and Lorna's troubles concerning her father's presence, Scott couldn't help but thinking an interaction between the two might be good. But, it could also go horribly badly... The two seemed to be hot or cold, not much in between. It wasn't any of his business about the status of their relationship (off again for a while now), so he didn't even mention it.

OOC: If this isn't savvy, that's totally cool. I can edit. :D

Alex faintly shook his head while Cyclops pulled a stool, still trying to keep some semblance of focus at the task at hand. He leaned backwards, stretching his lower back, before glancing at the right shoulder tubing. Bending his body over once more, Alex brought the suit closer with his free hand. With the screwdriver in the other hand, he proceeded to do the same procedure as with the two ribcage tubes. Once he had the right shoulder tube into the main panel and under the coupling, he looked over to Scott and stood up straight.

"Lorna?" Alex was trying to act like he didn't know the name. He sighed, wiping sweat from his forehead, "Nah, not recently." Guess all was not lost between the two Summers brothers. They were actually having a civil conversation. The younger Summers narrowed his eyes at the thought, "Why?" He wanted to ask if she was looking for him, anything. While he meant to look uncaring about her, asking why usually was a bad way to go about it.

Between critical glares and amused smirk-toppers, his quirking eyebrow just wouldn't seem to stay down. At least Alex provoked emotion in him. So few did. When all was said and done, Scott surmised that Havok wasn't put off by the mention of Lorna, so he continued, none too cautiously. It wouldn't do good to look smug. "I was just curious. She's been a bit down lately. I know you have that sunny way about you that just cheers people up." He suppressed giving his brother a childish raspberry and grinned instead. "There's been a lot on everyone's minds lately. And Jean and Storm are always so busy..." Lorna had her classes and her thoughts. It wasn't like she busied herself with the (mostly) unnecessary security measures Scott took. It's what kept him sane. The green-haired woman was another story.

It was Alex's eyebrow that quirked this time. "Sunny way, that's a new one." He smirked, glancing at Scott before bending down to finish the right shoulder tubing that he had been so diligently working with. When the tube was tightly bound in, Havok keeled back onto the work stool behind him. The screwdriver was tossed onto a black portion of his containment suit, the muffled sound of a clank followed. Breathing a heavy sigh, he lifted his gaze towards Scott once more. "Everyone has a lot on their minds." Himself included, he wanted to add but he decided to forgo the notion.

He and Lorna were on friendly terms, to say the least. But, oh, how much he wanted to-- screw rolled off the table, a little tick sound as it hit the floor. Continuing, more specifically to Scott's query. "I think we've both been busy ... not enough time to see each other." Which was good, idle thinking led to other things. Alex wanted to get off the subject, rolling his shoulders as he said in a pleasant tone, "How's Jean?"

Sarcasm: Just One Of The Many Services Offered By The Summers Brothers. Scott watched Alex more closely as he worked, watching his face for changes he recognized to mean certain things. 'Not enough time to see each other' translated to 'should be boinking Miss Dane' in Scott's mind. He pinched back a smirk and was about to comment on his guess when Alex turned the tables. They were going to talk about someone who wasn't Alex? That was a switch. The topic didn't necessarily drive Scott into a verbal frenzy, however.

"She's doing fine. Less frazzled now with the cure found... and all..." He cleared his throat and adjusted so he was sitting upright. "Did you mean Jean or Jean and I?" Cyke's arms slid across his chest and rested there. He kept watching.

Alex's brow furrowed at his last words. As if it were genetic, he crossed his arms as well. At least they got off of the Lorna subject, or then Alex would go on about himself instead. He had meant Jean herself, Alex could have cared less about his older brother because he knew he was alright... from what he saw. Scott wouldn't be standing here talking to his kid brother if he was down and out. He stifled a laugh, "Well, how are you and Jean?" Revenge for talking about Lorna. "Now that you asked." Uncrossing his arms and putting his hands on his thighs, Alex shifted his gaze from his bespectacled brother back to the suit, overlooking the final tubing.

He would actually be able to head back into the mansion proper soon, not that he hated this chit-chat with Scott. Well, maybe he did but Alex wasn't going to say anything. After all, Alex was doing just fine without him. Scott was just being the ever-watchful Sentinel.

"Good." I want in Emma's pants. "Fine," he continued. Logan still wants Jean, she may want him. Sigh. Jean scares me, sometimes. All the time. "Both a bit preoccupied... but that happens after you've been committed for a while." Or should have been 'committed'. So he thought Jean still needed some psychological help...

It came with the territory of living inside the woman's mind after she'd killed him, then killed countless others and tongue-fucked Wolverine's mouth. Yeah... he knew about all that. But he hadn't brought it up - with anyone. Perhaps it would've been a good idea by now, having been nearly a year since their return to ... being? Another sigh. God damn it. Something about Alex's face always pulled his pissiest thoughts straight to the surface. "I have work to do." He stood finally. "You should talk to Lorna." She might've been crazy, but at least she hadn't eaten him alive. Scott made for the hallway.

Every male worth his salt wanted in Emma's pants, Alex included. But Polaris still mattered to him in some shape or form, which made him relent the thought. Alex had been working on the last part of his little fix, finally getting it done. He sighed in between Cyclops' words and stood up, grabbing the suit and hoisting it over his shoulder like a jacket. He glared at Scott for a moment. Since when was Scott not boasting about his lovely and undeniably sappy relationship with Jean. Something was the matter, but Havok was not one to prod and ask questions unless it was brought up.

Alex shook his head softly, while putting the tools away in their respective bins. "You always have work to do, leader." He turned towards Scott and did a mock salute. Oh, I'll talk to her alright. "Okay, I'll see if I pass by her office one of these days." Least he could do. Well, he could do a lot of things in that office. Including Lorna.
