Who: Silver and Mars
When: September 7th
Where: Xavier's; Gym
What: Learning to be a useful part of the team
Status: Complete
Rating: PG-13

Diana felt nervous as she headed for the gym. She had finally decided to join the x-men. How they had decided where to place her was a mystery to her, given that she tried to avoid over half of her new team most of the time. While she felt pretty good about her powers, she knew she had one main fault. She could run, but she didn't really know how to fight. So Emma in her infinite wisdom, the witch, had determined that Diana was going to learn that from her teammates. Mars was first in the rotation... lucky her. She entered the room, dressed in some comfortable sweat pants, a sports bra and tank top. Her hair was braided and tied back in a pony tail. She nervously gnawed on her thumb as she looked around for Mars.

Mars stepped into the gym, and caught sight of his new teammate. Damn it, Emma. Why couldn't ye have Wolverine do this shit? Well, at least the girl had finally chosen to be an X-Man. A choice that had slightly surprised him as she seemed to be attached at the hip to Boom Boom most of the time. He had chosen not to change into work out wear, as he despised it. He gave her the once over as he approached her. He should have made her change into her uniform for a little extra challenge. Moving quickly in full leather gear wasn’t an easy task if one wasn’t used to it. When Ronan reached the girl he gestured for her to step onto the large mat that covered most of the area. “First off, do ye know anythin' about fightin'?" Street, karate classes, whatever.

Diana stopped worrying her fingers when Mars showed up. She wiped them against her pant leg and tried to calm down the heavy pounding of her heart. Oh damn, he so didn't look happy to be stuck her training her. Well, then again when DID the man ever look happy? Maybe when he was hanging with his wife? She shook her head. "Not really. I took a self defense class at the Y once. Mostly I just ran from trouble." She didn't consider the untrained and frantic hit anything with anything at hand method she used when she couldn't run counted as fighting. Nor did she consider the school yard fights where she essentially tackled people and went for the throat 'fighting' either

Silver squirmed and clawed as she was carried and when Mars tried to divest himself of her. Despite the frantic squirming and hitting, she was plopped down in the shower. The cold water shocked her back to her senses. It took a few moments and she was thoroughly soaked by the time her brain fully switched over from attack to think.

She still sat there for a while longer, hugging herself and shivering from both the cold of the shower and the adrenaline crash. She curled up against the wall so that the spray fell in front of her. Hugging her knees she kept her head down and was taking deep breaths. Diana felt ... like crap. She had lost control, acted like a child, went completely nut crazy... and all in front of her future teammates. Cloaked in the water, she felt like crying but was trying not to. She had to get out of here before she started bawling like a baby. Already she was starting to breath in short bursts as she felt more and more upset about how she had acted. She was NOT going to cry in front of them.
