There's a forest that is presenting a threat to the security of every major European power. It contains old magic, and the central oak, some thousands of years old, just woke up last year and has been waking the others, slowly. It plans on marching them with magic to conquer the nations on that continent and reforest them once the per]sky mammals are gone. A large river runs through it with magic in the waters, and a particular kind of fish there is poisonous, magically, to the tree. I need you to go in, survive to get to the river, catch a herring, and cut down the mightiest tree you ever did see with it. Bring back the heartwood, and we will be able to negotiate with future awakened ones, instead of letting it get this far.
