It's been an interesting summer. Not a bad one, but interesting.

I should do something outrageous for August, keep the weirdness in play for a bit.

Anyone feel like teaching me to play electric guitar so I can get a bunch of approaching middle aged hipsters to cover metal songs in a slow, thoughtful manner with me? Or should I jsut go solo and learn piano instead?

Ooooh, that's either martyr work or unusual self-torture.

Hey, Gorgeous, if you need a musician tutor, I'm happy to volunteer.

I'm a total masochist, what can I say?

But I do have a qualifying question. You went out with my nephew Darius. Did you at any point have sex with him? He has an incurable sexually transmitted disease called Summers Syndrome, and I'm trying to avoid being around others with this terrible affliction.

I'm guessing so. Hipsters and metal?

Summers Syndrome, really? What's the symptoms? Because while we might have taunted and riled up a few bars' patrons, we did nothing even in the Clinton sense of the term.

Good point. Solo pianist it is.

Um, dying and coming back to life, becoming evil/crazy/evil and crazy. Odd attraction to red heads and telepaths?

Getting left in space by bald men in wheelchairs because they feel like being douchebags. Shi'ar people all over your business.

Seeing as I've yet to kick the bucket, not sure I can test that first.

The second one, well, that depends on what the other person does for kicks.

Others reading my mind would end up with me being slapped and right now I'm partial to viridescent tones.

Mostly getting left handcuffed to beds and over couch-arms, not space.

I've got little devils messing with my stuff. Close?

Well Lovely, the verdict is in and I am blessedly free of such maladies, meaning I'm only plagued by the other ills of a musician.

Including middle aged women teasing you about men you haven't even slept with.

Do you play piano, by chance?

Sadly, I see no old ladies interested in playing. You might have to step up to it, darling.

Pfffft. I've done more things in my short time than most old people ever do all their lives.

beside, I have grey hairs. I'm halfway to eating off the senior menu at Denny's. Which is a step down in all directions.

Well I'm curious now.

Hey, that's a whole cheaper array of meals, I'll have you know. And if I was truthful about that kind of thing, I should be playing rummy and shuffling about with a tennis-ball walker.

You don't even know my name yet.

Those things are bad ass. When I need one, I'm putting hydraulics in it. And spinners.

Hickory, huh? Nice name.

Definitely. I bet it will liven the place right up, until they sedate us 'for our own good'.

(of course, I can't be sedated, but we won't tell them that)

Well I'm glad you've found your lucky tree.

Oh, going for the big guns, huh? The only step up is to have our stupid grandchildren come by and be disruptive while our kids try to convince us to be pleasantly drugged for our own good.

He goes by Simon. Mostly does gang bang type things, since it's the best way to use his telekinesis.

I've never had old people's candy. My parents adopted when they were young.

Man, I came from a boring universe. No one used powers for this kind of thing, on or off the record. Shit, I should have done soundtracks.

Well, you know them music parties, a few rounds of tequila and someone breaks out the Adderall.

My universe was not at all boring.

I prefer vodka. The only drug I've done willingly is pot. It helped with my panic attacks when I first got here. But I didn't even use that a lot. I'm pretty boring, now that I think about it.

Clearly!

Seeing as I'm from Georgia, I'm weaned onto bourbon from breast milk.

Oh and I call bullshit, hon. Did you just forget the green hair, marry a porn star and drag racing we just mentioned?

The green hair doesn't count. It's natural.

And I would have married him if he'd been an Algebra teacher.

And I have not actually drag raced.

Booooring.

Naturally weird, you didn't even have to wager your soul try!

Think finding true love's boring or commonplace? Westley weren't lying in that movie.

We should fix that.

Maybe.

I don't know that this is a true once in a lifetime never going to happen again love. I'm in love with him, and couldn't imagine anyone better, but things happen. I'm not about to assume anything about the future.

Alright. How about bar stools, since we're both hale and hardy.
