So what if Leslie Knope had been cooped up in her hotel room for what seemed like days on end? She was busy preparing herself on this new world, coming to terms with the fact that this was some sort of alternate reality, and trying to survive without her best friends or waffles. It was a tall order to fill, but Leslie was determined to do it because what other choice did she have? If she couldn't go back to Pawnee then she was going to make Marrowood as close to Pawnee as she could.
Her first order of business was to create a plan for all of it. She had ventured into the town to look for some sort of office supply shop. When she didn't find one she made due with the general store that just happened to have all the binders she needed. There weren't any dividers or color-coded divider tabs that she needed to separate the sections, but she could improvise. Tape and markers and blank paper did just the trick as well! By the time Leslie was finished with her project it was three in the morning, and she had filled three, 3-inch ring binders, with all of her ideas.
After a mere three hours of sleep Leslie was up and at 'em the next day. She dressed in a new suit she had found conveniently in her closet (that did not smell of formaldehyde and more like Gain or something along those lines) and made her way to the diner. She was supposed to meet the really nice lady from the network, and hopefully make some headway with meeting the Mayor, getting an office in town, and really getting down to doing some good in the bleak town. Leslie Knope was ready to work, and Marrowood be damned if it tried to stop her.
She sat at an empty table in the diner, her tote bag of folders sitting quietly in the seat next to her. She wished this was JJ's Diner where she'd already be on her second plate of waffles, and meeting with the people that wanted to run her campaign for city council. It was her dream, and she had to put it on hold because she was here. She wondered if everyone in her world was freaking out because they couldn't find her, or did time stop now that she wasn't there? That was silly, of course time didn't stop, but that would be really convenient if it did. She'd have to look into that - what was the name of those scientists she'd seen on the network?
Anyway, she ordered two cups of coffee, and waited patiently for her guest. Mary Margaret seemed like a really nice woman, and Leslie wondered if she would be a good candidate for the best friend role while she was here in Marrowood. While no one could compare to her beautiful land mermaid, Anne, she knew that there were plenty of fish in the sea (so to speak) and that Mary Margaret was probably wonderful in her own ways and that Leslie would love her. She was sure of it.
