December 26, 1997
Characters: Megan Jones & hottieViktor Krum
Setting: December 26, 1997, Hogwarts Infirmary, 1:30pm-ish
Status: Incomplete!
Summary: Megan is counting the minutes before she can leave the infirmary when an unexpected visitor stops by.

Saturday! Megan usually loved Saturdays. However, this particular Saturday would likely be her favourite Saturday for the rest of the year. After almost two weeks of being in the infirmary following her quidditch injuries Madam Pomfrey was finally letting her out of the place. It was all sorts of exciting considering she'd been spending most of her days stalking the journals, staring out the window, and teaching herself how to cast basic charms with her less dominate left hand. That is, when her mates and family weren't visiting. Course...when she was alone...the hours seemed to drag on so slow!

Now, though, they were going even slower. She was trying her best to pass the time until three o'clock. It'd been decided that after she'd taken her last dose of the five potions she'd been on for the last week she'd be able to skedaddle off with only a single dose to follow up on. Which was important to the Hufflepuff since she felt as though she'd missed some of the Hogwarts Holiday festivities yesterday. Though she had been surrounded by family and friends for most of Christmas Day she would have killed to have been able to run down the halls yelling Christmas cheers and laying about in the snow outside. But...she didn't. And she'd already planned on doing at least some of that stuff once the infirmary queen allowed for it.

As she browsed the pages of her journal she glanced up at the clock hanging on the wall. It was only 1:30! She let out a slight groan as she looked back at her journal. She'd definitely found herself learning a great deal more about the people that wrote it in than she would have liked. And she certainly wouldn't mind putting it aside for the next ... year. As she turned the page to another entry about someone's motherly duty and holiday blind dates the sound of the infirmary door drew Megan's attention almost instantly. She'd hoped it was Pomfrey coming to relieve her sooner than promised. But no...it was someone entirely different.

"Hullo..." she offered curiously to herself with a slight grin on her features that couldn't be masked in the slightest.

Viktor paused, and realized that he was talking more than he had for the last few weeks. He had to wonder if it was a combination of things. He'd been fairly alone on his job, with not many to speak with. He had few friends. And there was something about being in the infirmary that made him prickle. He should have been used to it; he'd spent enough time in one off and on over his academic and professional career. But that last stretch in one had changed him; he had not realized he would feel so odd when entering one again. If he had known, he would have just sent the items to her via owl with his apologies and a note.

He found his attention from her drift towards the other empty beds, and the stark bleakness of her surroundings. It was really no place to spend a holiday, even if he did feel odd and uncomfortable. And it was clear to himself that he was uncomfortable; he'd just utterly dumped on an unsuspecting girl about being careful. To his own ears, he sounded like his mother which was really appalling.

"Megan, thank you for your concern. And you have every right to be snarky as you say with me. Even I sound a bit...unusual to my own ears."

He rubbed his thighs and gave her a weak smile, "I work in the Ministry at the present, with the Floo networks. It is..not what I anticipated when coming here, but it is not too bad."

Again, his words sounded weak and needful, and he tried to brush past his last comments, "And of course, you will be using caution. Again, it was not my place to lecture you so. You know, when you are allowed to leave, perhaps it would be nice to meet in Hogsmeade sometime? Under happy circumstances? Only if you will allow me?"

He stopped short, surprised by his own suggestion. He found himself wanting to leave, but didn't want to seem rude. He thought another meeting would be more enjoyable, especially in another location.

Megan had made note of the uncomfortable vibe coming from him. And her natural response to feel...just as awkward. This was a strange scenario and she knew it. The fact that they were now both fidgeting seemed to make Megan feel as though they were both being a little silly. Course, when he asked to meet her at Hogsmeade she suddenly found herself even more uncomfortable.

Regardless of if Viktor meant it as an invitation as a date - Megan had interpreted it as such. And...well... it made her squirm a little. One because she wasn't so sure that's how he' meant it. And two...well...was she supposed to feel obligated to say yes because he was...Viktor Krum? Or...

"Erm...yeah, that'd be cool," she smiled and nodded at him. She quickly added, "Or maybe...when I'm completely and utterly healed up we can scrimmage or something. Help me break in these gloves," she pointed at the materials to the right. For whatever reason the scrimmage option seemed less....strange.
