What a happy Sunday!
Who: Greg Goyle and Theo Nott
What: Greg is cheered by the game and is using his good mood to try to study...maybe Theo can help
Where:  Slytherin Common Rooms, at first, then Boys' Dorm if it gets too noisy
When: Sunday afternoon
Warnings: okay forget TBA; make it R for language alone

He knew he was getting looks from his fellow housemates as they passed by.  The sight of the book in his lap would make most of them stop in the first place, but with the paper next to him, Greg looked positively the student.   In addition to it, he had a grin on his face as his eyes focused on the pages infront of him.  He'd read it over three times now, and it still wasn't making much sense.

He turned his attention to the paper next to him, and it made him grin again at the article in the Prophet.  Draco was damn right; they needed to start their group up straight away.  He let out a snorting chuckle and moved his eyes back to his book, his smile starting to fade slightly.

This was going to be tougher than he thought.  He'd hoped that reading old text books again (okay, for the first time really) would help his charms skills but he was having a bugger of a time at it.  He let out a small sigh, grunted and closed the book in his lap. He let his head drop back, his gaze on the ceiling of the common room as he tried to think what to do.

Greg nodded, "I think it's what I'm gonna need. I'm really utter crap at my Charms," and he moved to sit up at last, "And that is no pity cry. It's just a fact."

Greg smirked at Theo, "So now you know one of my secrets. How about telling me one of yours? It seems only fair," he added, now sitting next to Theo and turning his head to look at him, "I know you aren't gonna blab to anyone, and I'd do the same for you."

"Well, we could fit more in if you wanted, my schedule's not exactly brimming. I don't know about yours of course." he pointed out.

As open as he'd been, Theo immediately shut down when Greg asked about secrets. "I have none." he said, which was an immediate lie.

Greg watched people all of the time; that was just one of those things that he did. In the halls, at the tables or in class, Greg made observations, filing away different mannerisms and habits. He might mix up the words, truth be told, but watching how someone acted was easier for him to read than really getting all that they said.

So he noticed as Theo clamped up and lied to him.

Greg shrugged, "Okay. Must be nice," he said, his tone not hurt but just a shade distant.

"I've got loads of time. Let's meet again, soon."

"Yes." Theo replied, although the 'it must be' was unspoken and unindicated. He wasn't a free agent anymore... he could almost feel the collar of his father's displeasure around his neck, and there was nothing he could do to escape it.

"Okay, well, just let me know when you're available."

Greg shrugged, "Okay," and Greg moved to rise, stretching as he stood, "Bloody hell, "I'm starving. Wanna get something to eat?" he asked, sticking to a more neutral subject.

He paused, and his stomach rumbled, indicating his next destination.

Theo made a face at the idea of eating, his too-thin body showing that he wasn't exactly enamoured with food, although he was present and ate at every meal.

"I'm not hungry Greg, but thanks for asking."

Greg paused, "Well, come keep me company at least," and he paused, looking Theo up and down, "You could have something to drink? We could plan out what to work on?" and he flashed a grin at him, "Come on. Don't make me eat alone," he said, much cheered at the thought of eating something, even if it was a third of what he used to pack into his body.

Theo was a bit of a loner, but there was a part of him that craved company, a part so starved of what it wanted that he wasn't even sure when it was being dangled in front of his nose, and when it was he instantly wary that it might be a trap.

As it was... "Yeah, okay, I'll come with you."
