What a happy Sunday!
Who: Greg Goyle and Theo Nott
What: Greg is cheered by the game and is using his good mood to try to study...maybe Theo can help
Where:  Slytherin Common Rooms, at first, then Boys' Dorm if it gets too noisy
When: Sunday afternoon
Warnings: okay forget TBA; make it R for language alone

He knew he was getting looks from his fellow housemates as they passed by.  The sight of the book in his lap would make most of them stop in the first place, but with the paper next to him, Greg looked positively the student.   In addition to it, he had a grin on his face as his eyes focused on the pages infront of him.  He'd read it over three times now, and it still wasn't making much sense.

He turned his attention to the paper next to him, and it made him grin again at the article in the Prophet.  Draco was damn right; they needed to start their group up straight away.  He let out a snorting chuckle and moved his eyes back to his book, his smile starting to fade slightly.

This was going to be tougher than he thought.  He'd hoped that reading old text books again (okay, for the first time really) would help his charms skills but he was having a bugger of a time at it.  He let out a small sigh, grunted and closed the book in his lap. He let his head drop back, his gaze on the ceiling of the common room as he tried to think what to do.

Theo watched Greg again, about to do a bit more delving into the best way to get Greg to retain what he was reading when the other boy said what he did, Theo's hackles rising immediately.

"He was dead." he said flatly. "How does someone come back from the dead Greg?" he asked. "They don't. That's not my father." Well, that was new.

Greg paused, some concern crossing his face at Theo's words.

"Theo? He was? I...well, I didn't know that. I'm sorry," he said, showing an uncharacteristic amount of care for a fellow mate.

He pulled at the blanket, finding a loose thread to tug at, and not saying anything for a moment. He let out a sigh, and moved to wave a hand, "If you need to....talk or something, you can you know. I can listen," and he redirected his gaze from the bed to the other boy, "I'm good at that."

"It's fine." Theo said, looking more confused at the offer if anything. "I'm trying to find out who he is. It's a very good likeness. He's got the mannerisms down as well."

Theo had apparently gone off the deep end for a little while, and who knew when he'd be coming back. "I know you are." he said, which was surprising considering. Theo usually hung back and said nothing, but that was just because he had nothing to say. He learned more through observation. "And thanks."

That compliment surprised Greg, more than Theo could have ever known. Greg wasn't normally the type to receive kind praise, and it made a spot in his heart warm. That warmth spread up his chest and made his face tint, appreciation filling his eyes.

"Well, for start, don't take every owl. Best get those screened by someone. That way, you don't have to deal with the bullshit on your own," Greg said, offering a pearl of knowledge he'd learned, "And hey, it's not big deal, really. We're mates, right?" he added, giving Theo a small grin.

"There are consequences if I don't read them." Theo said, but he didn't let known anymore than that. He watched Greg smile at him and for a minute it was like there was no one in there, until the moment passed and he smiled back in that Theo way of his. "Yeah, we're mates."

Greg grew still, and felt this odd sense of comfort, sitting here talking with him. It was like they'd known each other for a long while, and could trust each other. He wasn't sure what it was based on; he and Theo hadn't really done much with each other to this point. They went to class, ate at the same table, and hung out in the common rooms together. But they'd never really sat and talked.

Greg couldn't help it; he'd been sort of latched to Draco's side over the past few years. And he felt this palpable feeling that he could trust Theo. It could have been the observation, the compliment. Greg didn't think people noticed him, except when he was smashing their face into a wall.

He felt himself growing more relaxed, and moved to stretch out on his stomach on the bed, his head not so far from Theo's leg as he pushed the book in front of him more.

"You got any ideas?" he asked, leaning on his forearms, his feet on the head board.

Theo tensed up a little as Greg moved but it was purely from instinct and he relaxed as soon as Greg did.

"I've got a lot of ideas, which were you interested in?" He asked, not being purposefully pedantic, not really, he just couldn't help himself.

Greg looked down at the book, pondering its text.

"I think some of both maybe? We could read, you could help me practice some?" he said, shifting again so he could face Theo. He leaned down on his arm, looking up at Theo, and he gave a wry smile, "What were your best pics? I've got to try to do decent on my NEWTs. I know its bloody late but still," he said, his eyes on Theo.

He let his gaze move across Theo's face, curious about him. It felt...natural to be here, sitting with him, chatting it up.

And then came that memory of his dream from a few weeks past. It was like he was having deja vu, if he believed in that. But Greg had the uncanny feeling that he'd been like this before, in this exact position with Theo. He lay there, trying to remember what happened in his dream next.

"If you think that you'll learn best that way, then we can do that." Theo said with a nod, taking the book gingerly and then flicking through it.

He looked up and out of the window and saw that it was getting late... maybe now wasn't the best time to start this. He felt Greg staring at him and looked back, suddenly uncomfortable. "Is it too late for you to be able to keep any information in, or would you rather start tomorrow?"

Greg was listening and thinking, his mind trying to grasp at those dim threads of memory of that dream. It had been a dream he liked but was ashamed of. There had been kissing, and touching, with lips sliding over rough skin, plucking and pulling at a neck, a chest a nipple. Greg found his breath catch slightly as some of it came back to him, the dream experience of being with a boy being just as intense as being with a girl. He'd had to change the sheets again, regardless, but it had nagged at the back of his mind, not leaving him alone.

That kiss he'd witnessed between those 6th years had brought it back, and now lying here, looking up at Theo, Greg could feel his mouth growing dry as he remembered.

He blinked slightly, coming back to reality as Theo spoke to him, and for a very brief moment, he wondered what it would feel like to kiss Theo, right then, on his bed. He found himself flushing slightly at the thought and then answering, "Maybe better tomorrow, if that works for you?" he said, afraid to move, to break the spell that seemed to lay over the room.

It was quiet in there, and Greg looked back at him for a moment, wanting to say something so badly but not sure how to start.

"Theo, you ever kissed a girl before?" he blurted out, and his eyes grew big, slightly horrified he'd been so blunt.

Theo shrugged a narrow shoulder. "Sure, it works for me." He said, sitting there and enjoying the silence the way that no one else seemed able to do.

Theo took a short time to think about it and then shrugged again, as if the question hadn't been a personal one coming right out of the blue. "Politely, at parties." he eventually answered. "Why?"

Greg rolled over onto his back, putting a hand under his head as he stayed quiet for a moment, "It's been on my mind of late," and he paused and in a small voice, "I can't much talk about it with Draco. He'd just laugh at me," and his eyes shifted to Theo's again, "At least you're not laughing."

And he kept his eyes on Theo, "I can't seem to stop thinking about kissing. Even when I try, I keep catching all sorts of people in the act."

And Greg made a face, pursing his lips slightly, "I just wasn't sure if it was...normal...," he said, after a long pause.

Theo brought a knee up and held it close with clasped hands, resting his chin on it as he listened - he was foldable like that.

He listened patiently to Greg's worries and then shrugged before he answered. "It's plenty normal. Relationships and kissing and sex is the most powerful drive in the world. Stuff is built, stuff's invented, spells are made, all cause guys wanna romance girls... so yeah... normal. Very normal. Don't worry."

Greg still made a slight face, "I've never kissed anyone like that," he said, and his eyes stayed on Theo's face, "And in case you didn't know, it isn't just guys wanting girls. I came across...," and he paused, licking his lips slightly, "Two guys who seemed to be enjoying it greatly."

He let the words hang there for a moment before adding, "It seemed so normal," he said, giving a small sigh.

He lifted a hand to rub at his face for a moment, "You must think me daft, noting these things," and as he moved his hand down, his arm brushed against Theo's lower leg.

Theo tensed a little as Greg's arm brushed against his leg, but he didn't go for his wand and relaxed again soon after, so he viewed it as an improvement.

"Well, if you're wondering about that kind of thing then your brain will automatically pick out the bits of it that you see... you're probably not seeing it more than you usually did, you're just remembering more. And yeah, guys impressing girls, girls impressing guys, guys impressing guys impressing girls impressing girls..." he shrugged. "It's all the same."

Greg settled again, nodding at Theo, "You must be right. I see it everywhere," and he drew silent.

He gave a small sigh, "I don't have much of chance. Most of the girls see me as a big oaf, I am sure," and he nodded his chin at Theo, "You could get a girl, easily I expect. Haven't you ever wanted to try?"

Theo shook his head. "No, I don't like girls." he said, as easily as if he were talking about the weather. "Is that how you see yourself?" he asked suddenly.

"I don't know."

Greg said the words, and then let his eyes find Theo's again, "I mean, gosh! I know I like girls. I fucking dream about them enough, watch them all of the bloody time."

He chewed on a lip for a moment and then said in a very quiet voice, "But lately....," he said hesitantly, "I've been curious," he admitted.

There. He'd finally admitted it aloud. It felt okay, saying it to Theo. He still wasn't sure what Vincente would say; he hadn't told anyone. Theo was the first. And he realized what that meant. Theo liked boys. Theo liked kissing boys. That brought another thought up immediately.

"So no girls but what about boys. You've.....kissed one?"
