Who:Order Members, DA Members, Hogwarts Students, Aurors Stationed at Hogwarts
What:The Attack on Hogwarts
Where:Hogwarts
When:This evening, dusk
Rating: Adult

The day had been long, dragging. Minerva McGonagall, however, felt a deep sort of calm. It was her job, after all, to be steady. She had always been a good woman in a storm. Still, Minerva had the digging idea that something was wrong. Something about Albus, and the way he’d assured her that the night would end exactly as it should. Something about the way he’d been so quick to claim responsibility for keeping track of Potter, the most valuable of their charges if He showed himself tonight, during what was to come. Minerva had never trusted him when his eyes had taken on that certain, dark sort of sparkle.

It was not her job tonight, though, to question him. She had instructed the Prefects that they were to be vigilant about their dorms tonight, that any student caught out of bed would be not only their responsibility but also their fault, and then the long waiting had begun.

Order members began arriving soon after, and as dusk fell around Hogwarts, there was a confederation of adults who, at first thought, did not belong. Many had not stepped foot onto these grounds since Minerva herself had been a student here. Still, the defense of Hogwarts was not just the defense of the property, or the defense of a landmark of the Wizarding world. The students here were not simply wizards and witches in need of help – they were the future of their kind, and Minerva felt sure that every Order member who arrived, looking grave and worried and stalwart, was entirely in agreement on how important it was that Hogwarts stand. That Hogwarts survive, and that none of the children in her walls came to harm.

"I rather like my memories, thanks," he said to George, but with some hesitation, followed the twins anyway. Oliver never had adventures like this in school. It was a shame that it took the threat of the Dark Lord at the schools years after leaving for him to get that adventure.

"Well, now that you put it that way," he said to Fred, "Obliviate away!"

"Yeah well, we don't have Potter either. So he's not even using it properly," George answered, a bit testy, though not at Fred. He was just worried for his little brother. "He signed the form. If he forgets, then we can just surprise him with the signature and prototype later."

George grinned at Oliver though. "Ever wonder how we were forever getting in Honeydukes sweets in the middle of the night? Or popping off to Zonko's to resupply?" he asked Oliver.

"Or how we had firewhiskey when most fouth years hadn't ever tasted it?" Which was lie, since it had been more like fifth year, but still.

"Like I said, Wood. Our best secret..." Aside from their spells and products, at least. Fred stopped at a certain stairwell and started down the corridor as if he'd done it a thousand times, which made sense since he had.
