Who: Alfie & Jules
When: Wednesday
Where: The Ministry
What: Surprise! Date.
Rating: TBD

Being an Unspeakable sometimes made Julien feel a little like he'd used to in the old days, before his school days even. Those times when he would feel like he was invisible to anyone else until the day that he actively disappeared from sight. He couldn't speak about work to anyone, even to Alfie, literally in most cases with his mouth and words warded against spilling secrets accidentally.

It didn't help that a lot of the wizards in this profession had a healthy dose of paranoia in their personalities, which meant that most of them kept to themselves whenever research or experiments didn't mean otherwise. Even his office was a no-man's zone, so he wasn't surprised that one of his colleagues had to ask him to go to the department doors to be told that there was someone waiting for him.

He didn't really think about who it could be as he was too busy checking the time and then letting his boss know that he was leaving for the day (his boss pleased enough with the fact that Julien was actually leaving on time for once).

He was glad he'd decided on that because the minute he caught sight of his Alfie waiting for him he knew he wouldn't have wanted to go back to work. Some people might have rushed at their partners with arms around their neck and glomping hugs, but the smile that came over Julien's expression as he walked up to the once-Hufflepuff was as enthusiastic as any public display of affection.

"Hey." he said, glowing as he couldn't help lift a hand for his fingers to get caught up in the cuff of Alfie's shirt, intimate. "What are you doing here?" and then, because his practicality overrode his optimism asked, "Is everything okay?"

Julien gave Alfie his shy little boy smile back and leant in to kiss Alfie, sweet and quiet on the mouth, chaste but a display of public affection that he never usually made.

"Even if I couldn't get out of here I would get out of here to go out with you." he said then stopped. "If that made any sense."

Alfie laughed easily and shook his head. "Not really, but I know work addles your brain and all." He was obviously teasing, and his hand slid down Julien's arm as he chuckled again.

"Go on, get your things things?"

Julien mock-pouted at Alfie laughing at him and then had to shrug and agree to that comment as true; there was a reason he pulled 10 hour plus shifts at times. When he had Alfie to come home to he could only conclude that the work had addled his brain.

Julien was still feeling affectionate and fond so he snuck his fingers around Alfie's, loose in case Alfie wanted his hand back. "Got everything I need." he said with a smile. "We can go."
