Daily Prophet: 11 October, 2003 [Oct. 11th, 2010|07:34 pm]
Reporter Missing, Reward Offered
Erastus Saint

Lucy Elkins, Daily Prophet columnist, was reported missing yesterday evening by her older brother Grayson Elkins.

Miss Elkins, a registered animagus who was involved most notably at the Battle of Hogwarts as a student during the war, has been ill recently, colleagues report, and her extended absence from the office had not been seen as uncharacteristic. However, when Miss Elkins did not arrive for a scheduled dinner with her brother and his family, they became worried and attempted to find Miss Elkins at her home.

The official report from Aurors this morning was that the small Hogsmeade cottage Miss Elkins had recently purchased had been ransacked. Neighbors reported hearing nothing out of the ordinary, but also insist that Miss Elkins has not been home in several days.

If anyone has any information about the whereabouts of Miss Elkins or persons responsible for her disappearance, they are asked to inform Department of Magical Law Enforcement personnel immediately.

The family has offered a 100 Galleon reward for her safe return.

WHO: Verity Weasely and Trevor Scaboir
WHAT: Verity's pissed and runs into Trevor
WHERE: Diagon/Knockturn
WHEN: Monday night

Verity was pissed. It didn't quite matter to her that Fred was right and Ron was a prat, and it definitely didn't matter that the logical part of her brain was telling her to cool it. Although she loved Charlie with all her heart, more than she'd ever thought she could love someone, she did wish things had gone differently, that she'd been planned for, things hadn't been so rushed and chaotic. But to have someone like Ron throw that in her face? And was that what all of Fred's family thought of her, too?

She hadn't been able to handle even looking at the journal anymore, had just dropped Charlie at the shop, ignored Fred's attempt to talk to her and had headed out into the dark Alley, just needing to walk. At the juncture, she paused, not quite wanting to walk up to the new bits of the area.

Trevor! The thought came and she almost snapped her fingers. He was always good for a distraction! And he'd said he worked down Knockturn! Taking a breath, she stepped down the foreboding Alley, trying to walk casually and not draw any attention to herself. Although it was later, there were people prowling the street, eyeing her uncomfortably. It wasn't until she was halfway down the Alley, her anger fading quickly and being replaced by a deep seated feeling of unease and the first cold shivers of fear, that she remembered she had no idea where Trevor worked.
