Who: Snape and Draco
What: Talking
When: Snape's home
Where: Second left past the Hog's Head - end of the street. No. 9, Hogsmeade
Rating/Warning: TBA

Draco followed the instructions Snape had given him. After talking to Astoria about the charity the other night he was ready to have it settled and done with. Besides, only six weeks until term started? He supposed Nott would need to be moved and settled in before the first of September. He found the home easily enough, looking about the street at the other cottages and then approaching carefully, wary of wards, and knocking at the front door. Snape's home... Draco wasn't at all sure what to expect of that.

Draco nodded as if just acknowledging he'd heard that, then, after thinking on it a moment, cleared his throat and said, as if actually saying it pained him, "Thank you."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Severus replied, dry. "I hope you won't have gone to the trouble just to see him booted out for frightening the first-years. Was there anything else?" He hoped he wouldn't have gone to the trouble for nothing, but there was nothing to do but wait and see. ... And possibly add a fence around the groundskeeper's hut.

"I'm almost certain that won't happen," Draco would have a conversation with Goyle to make sure, because it was his name hurt if Nott screwed too much up for himself at Hogwarts.

"No, nothing else." Draco gave a tight shrug, then looked around the cottage. "Bit cramped, isn't it?"

He raised an eyebrow, although the unsolicited commentary really came as no surprise. "Not all of us need thirty-some rooms to be comfortable, Mr. Malfoy." He didn't know what he was supposed to need, aside from a place to sleep, a place to read and a place to eat. "And I find I prefer to spend my time doing things that aren't measuring for curtains."

And more fail!

"Yes, well, that's - " entirely obvious, Draco finished to himself, but aloud at least had the presence of mind to say,"expected. Likely saves you quite a bit of time, as well. As I will. I really only came to check on the Nott situation."

you do not fail. :P

"Yes, I imagine you can fritter hours away on that sort of frivolity. Thank you." Situation was probably too kind a word for all of this. If it had been possible for Severus to be less excited about the start of term than he already was, he might have minded more. As things stood, however ... he was going to do his best not to concern himself with it overmuch. "If anything goes wrong, of course, I won't hesitate to call on you."
