Alfie had been turning what Wayne had told him over and over in his head all night. He didn't want to believe it, but Wayne had cast a patronus! And he'd been so adamant about it, and so sure about Potter, and it was just everything ta Alfie had been worried about since they'd heard that Potterwatch broadcast weeks ago...

He knew one thing, though. He had to tell his sisters. Because if something bad was going to happen at Hogwarts, then they'd just have to be ready for it, wouldn't they? The idea of anyone he knew being hurt just didn't really make sense to him. Not at Hogwarts, where it was safe. It was even hard to really believe the sort of danger he knew his mum was in, outside. How could those things come and get them here, too?

"You dragged him out in the cold on purpose?" Alfie scowled a little, but he did shrug too and then started for the doors, pushing them open and letting her out before him so that they swung closed heavily after he stepped out, turning up his collar. "Anyway, it'll be Spring soon." He couldn't believe there were only four more months for school. What they hell would they do this summer, if things were still this bad for their mum?

"Not on purpose!" Ellie said, frowning unhappily up at Alfie. "It was when you two were having that disagreement and I wanted to talk to him. I just sort of forgot that it'd gotten so cold already." And she had. She really hadn't meant to drag him out somewhere so cold, but he'd agreed! Plus she hadn't kept him too long, he'd frustrated her too much. "It will! I can't wait for it to warm up and everything to start coming back to life. It's always so pretty." There was something lovely about Hogwarts covered in snow as well, but the novelty always ended quickly when faced with the bitter cold.

	Alfie's words nearly brought Ellie to a stop, but instead she just frowned at him and twisted her hands nervously. "You think that we might not be able to come back next year?" The very idea was inconceivable to Ellie. It would be their final year at Hogwarts! There wasn't any way they couldn't not come and finish their education. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"No, that's not what I meant, I just..." Alfie trailed off with a shrug and a furtive look around. He wasn't sure how to bring it up, really, so it was better just to get it out.

"Look, I visited Wayne in the hospital, and he told me some stuff. You know that radio show, thing are way worse than even they said. Wayne said that Potter wrote to all his friends, and says something, them you know? Might be coming to Hogwarts. And Ginny Weasley has some secret club of students to fight them."
