He was worried that Julien had been avoiding him - hiding in the library, trying not to see him. He knew it was stupid, if he was avoiding him then he was, and there was nothing Alfie could do about it. It made him upset, though, hurt in a way he wasn't sure he really understood, since he'd never felt it before. But he also knew that there was shite going on with Jules' family, and maybe it was just that he needed some time alone?

Alfie wasn't sure, but he knew that he wanted to see him. So he ended up swallowing his own worries and sending him a note to meet in their room, then he went straight there, waiting.

	Julien's smile was slight and tentative when Alfie repeated the words back to him, but it changed into a full fledged smile as Alfie tugged him closer, the Ravenclaw eagerly coming near and holding Alfie back gently, taking his time to savor feeling connected again. Willingly coming closer, Julien turned his head so that he could nuzzle in under Alfie's chin, breathing him in and feeling that same weird sense of satisfied stillness that he usually found so elusive; he couldn't lift his head once it was rested there.

"Yeah." he said with a heavy sigh, sounding tired. "I am really. Things are..." he didn't end the sentence, wasn't sure how. "How are you?" he murmured the question, his hand rubbing up and down the small of Alfie's back gently.

	"Bored, mostly, most of the time." Alfie sighed, but he sounded far more content than he'd felt in weeks, with Julien's head nestled there and tucked in beneath his. "I missed you, you know?" 	Julien made a soft thoughtful 'hmmm' sound at the boredom, feeling guilty for leaving Alfie on his own, so to speak, but he smiled at the confession and risked lifting his head to brush a kiss against Alfie's jawline. 	Alfie hadn't even thought of it like that, which worried him suddenly. Wasn't he terrified of people finding out? The answer came just as easy, though - not really. Julien stood back from the semi-cuddle but slid his arms to Alfie's hands, holding them in his own between them. He shrugged back, looking somewhere at Alfie's chest. "I'm not, I mean, I'm not afraid just, I don't want to put you in a position where you have to lie or say something you don't want to." he said, awkward. He really didn't care who knew about them as long as there was a them to know about, but Alfie felt differently and Julien would do what he could to make sure Alfie was always comfortable with them.

Alfie didn't know why he cared, really. He wanted to protect it, maybe? And protect himself, because if Goyle's blackmail had taught him anything it was that there would be some people queued up to give them a beating, no matter how nice his friends were about it.

He squeezed Julien tighter though, and didn't say any of that. "Well, it was sweet anyway, getting something from an admirer and whatall."

	Julien grinned, cuddling back in and laughing a little. "Admirer? I don't know, idoliser maybe. Idoliser? Is that a word? Well, it is now, and who better to use it on." 	"Idoliser?" Alfie rolled his eyes, "It's not as big as all that, is it?" Except, for him, it felt like it was - except for Julien, instead. Like the days they hadn't talked just ate at him. "No, it's bigger." Julien commented with a cheeky smile, pouting a little bit when Alfie pulled away but letting it slip away as he realised he was just being tugged closer to the couch. "Why young master Cattermole, I do believe you are attempting to entice me, an unescorted young boy, to sit with you on this seat of fadedness." he exclaimed, affecting a posh voice and trying not to snerk.

Julien laughed at hearing Alfie amused and restrained himself enough to raise an eyebrow at the Hufflepuff. "How very dare you say such things of an innocent young boy such as I!" he exclaimed before nudging Alfie until the boy fell down onto the sofa and straddling his lap, leaning in against Alfie's chest. "You're lucky you're right." he murmured with a grin, reaching up to pet the ends of Alfie's hair and eskimo kissing Alfie's chin.
