Easy, Eiji, felt easier said than done when every fiber of Eiji's being was crying out to be close to Ash. Ash stirred up feelings in Eiji that no one else had ever before. How was it not his fault when he should have tried so much harder to get Ash to leave. Yet, Eiji knew that trying to make Ash get out was just as bad as the people who forced him to stay in. He had no control over Ash, not really, all he could do was hope, and maybe, in some terrible and stress filled roundabout way, he had him now. He was safe. Hurt, he had to be hurt, and Eiji was practically trying to crawl ontop of him.
"S-sorry!" He moved back slightly when Ash let down the bedrail and he was back again, but slowly, gently, perching himself on the edge of the bed so his weight was there and not on hard plastic or Ash's body.
He sucked in a breath, feeling some little corner of his heart that hadn't already shattered break. Ash was going to come to Japan? He was going to come and got stabbed instead. If he'd calmed even a little in the moment, he was crying all over again now, choking out a pained sound and shaking his head. "That's not...it's not your fault, either." None of it was Ash's fault. He never asked for any of the terrible things that happened to him. None of the trauma that Eiji couldn't protect him from at all no matter how desperately he wanted to.
Shifting up on the bed, he just leaned over Ash again, more gentle this time, not nearly as rushed or needy as the first time. "I don't care about Japan." He didn't. He left that behind first chance he got. He wanted to go back to New York, like Max had been wrong, like there was still a chance Ash was there somewhere. He was glad he didn't, though, because Ash wasn't... He was here.
He breathed out a laugh through shaky breaths and nodded. "I'll teach you all of it...and make you those sandwiches you loved." Or hated. You know. He pulled back a little, lift a hand to rub his face, the relief slowly starting to outweigh the grief that had built for what felt like an eternity now. "Can I stay with you now? Forever?"
