The street faire was bustling with people and pride. Among the booths were flags and stickers and candies off all kinds. Games and activities were scattered around the booths. Cheerful and empowering music was alive in the air from speakers set up around the parking lot. Pastels's doors were wide open with menus hanging from them. The smell of cooking food wafted from the diner. Other sweet treats and festival confectioneries lined the walls of Pastels, where individual vendors were selling all sorts of on the go foods and drink.

Ryek was examining the wall of flags. He was on the hunt for a genderfluid one. He glanced to the other side of the stall and he noticed Val. "Hey! What's up girl!"

He took a break from looking at the flags to waltz over. He flashed her a wide smile. He was wearing, a pansexual pride shirt along with a colorful skirt. His eyes were done up with colorful pride make-up

"How ya doing?" Ryek asked as he leaned with all weight on one hip. He rested a hand on his hip.

Valkyrie noticed Ryek as he approached. She was unsure what to think of him, other than the fact that he seemed to be a helpful person, if extravagant.

"Hello, it is good to see you."

She was trying to puzzle out some of the flags. She knew the pink and orange one, along with the rainbow one, but they're were a few she wasn't sure about.

"I am well, just unsure if I should get one of the lesbian flags. What are you looking for?"

"Oh me? I'm mainly just looking around! Though I am looking for a genderfluid flag. I didn't even know they had a word for it til I got here. That's exciting isn't it?" Ryek absentmindedly chatted. He was used to being able to keep up a conversation while doing something else. It was tools of the trade, both in bar-tending and piracy. His eyes scanned the stalls as he spoke.

"If you want to get a flag go for it. If not then don't. It's really up to you now isn't it?" He looked back at Val with a cheeky smile, "It's your money after all."

"It is. I do not know what that means, but I am happy you have words. I could help you look, if you need? The stall that would have it would most likely have a lesbian one as well, yes? We can look together."

Valkyrie wanted to interact with him more. She hadn't confided in someone other than Spirit or Guardian in, a decade or so. It was nice to have someone else to talk to. Even though she'd had to leave Spirit behind.

She smelled something good a few stalls over. Her stomach growled, reminding her she hadn't eaten yet today. She knew there would be food here, so she hadn't bothered. She was still getting used to the whole, eating more than once a day thing.

"Can we go this way? The food at the stall smells like home."

Ryek nodded, he was fine with looking together if she wanted. He didn't mind the company. "Sure I guess we could look around." He started to browsing through the bagged flags, looking for a lesbian one. It didn't take him long, but Val's stomach growled and it caught his attention.

"Oh yeah sure. I'd love to grab a bite to eat to!" Ryek put the flag down and headed over to the food stalls with her. Eating here was one thing that threw him for a loop. Even after a year he was still having to get used to it.
