Maine was not a place Logan visited often, and never before had he been here thanks to a magic portal. Being here was disorienting, for more reasons than Logan could really count and, finally, he'd just had to get out. Where was he going? He didn't know. He'd just stuffed his hands in his pockets and started walking. The destination didn't really matter, he just needed to be moving. Somewhere, anywhere. His mind was still somewhat struggling with the notion of coming to terms with the movies about him, or at least the one he'd seen. To see his own past, which Logan could only vaguely pull up through the fog of his own, shattered, mind, was hard enough. To experience it in a way he knew was wrong? Well, that had been a mind-fuck and a half. Logan was honestly thankful Carol was there, and he hadn't just stumbled upon it on his own. That likely would have cost him a perfectly good television. It didn't take away the biting, gnawing, sense that this place was just some weird form of Hell -- which was saying quite a bit, coming from a guy who knew more about that place than your average Joe. The walk wasn't helping much though, despite the crisp chill of winter temperatures helping to keep his blood from racing too much. This place was strange. Everything about it was strange; the way the town just accepted all these people showing up, the way most everyone seemed pretty happy about everything -- save maybe Bizzaro Thor and his Brother who seemed to be having all manner of issues. The fact that people were all out shopping and getting ready for Christmas and...kissing everywhere? "What the..." Logan's voice trailed off as he began looking around. People were acting very strangely indeed. He wondered if it was something super natural, or maybe people were just getting caught up in the spirit of the holidays? He sincerely hoped it was the latter as he ducked his head and tried to continue walking onward. All he could do was hope that, whatever it was, would just pass him by. |
