I just wanted to let you all know that Steve... my Steve... asked me out on a date. We're getting dinner and then going to the picture house.

He's mentally prepared himself for anyone wanting to give him the shovel talk. Which means I won't protest the idea. If anyone wants to make things fair and give me the shovel talk on his behalf he might appreciate that too.

I think my giving the shovel talk on an alternate version of myself's behalf might be a little strange and possibly self-serving. I'll leave that part for someone else and just say if this is what you both want I'm happy for you, Bucky. For both of you. And dinner and a movie sounds like it has the making of a nice date to me.

I've told someone that if they're a Yankees fan it might break my heart. Bucky, on Steve's behalf I'll have no truck with you being a Yankees fan. Understand?

I know. If ever there was proof the world's imperfect and in need of reform, it's the presence of Yankees support.

I'm just glad I woke up to a world where they weren't the only team left in New York.
