The bells (open to anyone)
What was this place? She knew what a city was, or at least thought she knew, but this was unlike anything her eyes had ever laid upon. She had been with Peter many times to Earth, where he would go to the house of the Darlings, take Wendy and her brothers back to their home in Neverland, and have adventures. Sometimes Nana, thier dog and house keeper, came as well. Sometimes it was just she and Peter, and those were the times she cherished the most. She remembered the time that they went to fight the pirates, and Captian Hook was holding her for bait, and Peter came to save her! Oh Peter! Her heart swelled with the mere thought of Peter Pan, however he had betrayed her. He had taken her for granted, then run off to Earth to be with Wendy, and his had to grow up and forget everything. Peter had even forgotten that she loved him. Sure she was only three inches tall, but pixies have hearts too, and they break. Especially if the love of thier life forgets about them, and runs of with another woman. A stupid one at that. Oh she couldn't stand Wendy! She had wished many times for the girl to have an accident, and there had been times that Tink had convinced the Lost Boys to shoot arrows at Wendy as she flew, or had pushed her into the lagoon for the mermaids to drown. That always brought a smile to Tinks pretty little face. The fact that Peter had left Neverland for good had just about killed Tinker Bell. She had been in her little house, curled up in her little bed, waiting for the darkness to take her. Pixies have a very short lifespan, like most small winged creatures and bein broken hearted didn't help.

But she was here, and very confused. After fluttering around the streets, lonely and confused, Tinker Bell settled down on the arm of a wooden bench in the park, her white dress, the shroud she was going to wear for her final journey to the Garden, fluttering around her tiny, curvy frame. She had put her face in her hands, palms cupping her jaw, fingers splayed over her eyes, releasing large, exaggerated sobs. She crossed one of her legs over the other, wings fluttering sadly. Her whole body glowed, and she was a small glowing ball of gold against the darkness. Everywhere she moved she left gold pixie dust, though it didn't have anything to grasp onto, so it faded simply away. She was aware that she was alone, and though it was scary, she could only feel sad at the moment. Pixies could only feel one emotion at a time, so sometimes her emotions could get a little exaggerated and take her over.

She sniffled, pulling her face out of her hands, setting her chin in her palm, and her elbow against her knee, large wet years still spilling over the lower rim of her eyelids, leaving tiny streaks on her cheeks. She sighed, looking around at the very large park, trying to find somewhere that might look remotely comfortable to live. She didn't see any bird houses, or any trees that might have vacant holes in them. She was a tiny little woman in a big persons world, and she was all alone.

She opened her mouth for a moment, saying something to herself, a series of small tinkles erupting into the night instead of words. The voice of the pixie was too high pitched for humans, except for a certain few that could learn to hear it, but she had nobody here to translate. Peter could understand her, the Lost Boys too, and she missed them terribly. She missed the pirates, the Indians, the Lost Boys, and even the tickin crocodile. She hated the mermaids and tiger lily, but she made exceptions for them when they were being mean to Wendy. But they wouldn't do that anymore.

Why her? She didn't know. She wiped her eyes with her hands, and sat there by herself, not knowin what she was going to do. It was a big world out there, and she was so little, and this was so different to her. She was now all alone.

When the woman had closed her eyes, Tinker Bell smiled wide, a grin from ear to ear almost, and waited patiently for the magic to start doing it's work. Tink hoped that the sudden motion of flying wouldn't startle the woman too badly, she didn't want her to lose those happy thoughts, especially not when the woman was airborne. She was liable to break an arm if she was too high and lost her train of thought.

It only took half a second, it seemed, for the woman to start floating slowly into the air, and Tink spun around excitedly, dousing the grass and concrete beneath her in gold pixie dust, though it just disappeared without a trace, and Tink fluttered backwards so the woman would have enough room to fly if she wanted to. Of course, it was a natural thing where Tink was from, however this wasn't her world, and it could be taken differently.

She would just have to wait and see.

As Christine's eyes opened she was still not quite sure what was going on. Nothing seemed different. Until she realised that it felt like she was no longer sitting. Looking down, she was startled to see her feet a few inches from the ground. If she was to lower than she would be fine, she would not hurt herself too badly, but she did not want that. Was this why she had to think happily? Testing it, she focused even more on those thoughts on Erik and the times they had together and noticed it only made her go that little bit higher.

"How is this happening?" she asked, even though she knew she would not get answer.

But maybe she would. After all, they had communicated enough for this to be possible. Christine was still a little worried but she refused to put any focus on that. The last thing she wanted was to be rid of happiness and no longer be able to do this. Or to come crashing down fast. Focusing on her thoughts and on the woman before her, she found herself laughing just a little.

"This is so strange."

When Tink noticed that the woman was starting to float, she spun around with excitement, fluttering softly in the breeze, noddin at the woman, as if to tell her to keep going.

When she asked how that was possible, Tink patted her own chest with her palm, as if I say 'it was me that did it!' She flew upwards, then back downwards, before flying up just a little over the head of the woman, beckoning for her to join Tink in the air. Makin sure the woman was looking at her, Tink mouthed at her, "you can fly!" The sound of little bells chiming out excitedly.

Tink wanted her to keep up her happy thoughts, an experiment with the new weightlessness, as humans didn't usually get a chance like that to fly.

"You did it?" she asked as the woman indicated herself. She had been capable of doing this? How incredible. She still did not know how she felt about it but, well, why should she argue? The woman seemed to mean well. And, once again, she felt guilty for referring to her as such even in her head. And although this may not be the right time she had to ask.

"Your name? Can you tell me your name?"

She still felt happy enough that she did not lower. But as she read her lips again she laughed and looked at her feet. Flying. She was flying. Impossible and so amazing. She would have to tell Erik. And with him on her mind again she soared a little bit more. An almost childlike squeal left her.

"This...I cannot believe it."

"Tinker Bell" Tink mouthed at the woman in response when asked her name, pointing at herself with a tiny finger.

She left Christine to float around and enjoy the flying she was doing, before Tink flitted higher, still beckoning the woman to float higher. They would be able to go anywhere, and it would last until Christine put her feet on the ground, or lost her happy thought.

Tink didn't mind if the woman shared this with anyone, it was all that Tink was really made to do, that and repair things, but she rarely used any of the magic required for that.

"Tinker Bell?" she repeated slowly to make sure than she had the right name. She didn't want to start calling her a name that was not right. It was an odd name but she could not say it and would not say it. After all, just because she had not heard that type of name didn't give it any less credit.

She didn't move much, just floated where she was. This shouldn't be possible and she didn't want to risk things by trying to move as Tinker Bell was. Clearly she was a lot better at this than Christine was. It was normal for her. Her eyes fell to her bags and she did worry about moving far away from them in case she came back to find the few things she had gone. So for now, she was happy to rise just a few more inches but stayed where she was.

Of course it wasn't just her worry about her purchases. She still, partly, didn't know how safe this was. But she did keep making herself focus on the good things and the engagement ring on her finger was enough to help with that.

Tinker Bell nodded in response to Christine saying her name, offering the woman a grin, before extending a tiny hand out to the woman, trying to coax her further from the bench. Tink would take her far, but she wanted the woman to enjoy the experience that Tink had offered her, despite the way they had started off.

"Just relax and fly!" Tink mouthed, beckoning Christine higher in to the sky, floating herself slowly, tiny wings brushing the wind gently. Christine was the first human from this world that had seen part of what Tink could do, and Tink was happy to share her gift. She didn't know anyone that wouldn't enjoy flying, anywhere, and that was Tinks gift for Peter and the lost boys. It gave them another way to have adventures, and to have fun. Peter of course could fly on his own, he never needed Tink, but Wendy and the boys had, and if Peter was happy, then Tink was too, despite her hatred for Wendy.

Oh good, she had realised the name correctly. Although she still found it odd at least she was not mistaken. She would just have to accept the name, and had, and not ask any questions. There were no need for questions given so many things in this place just did not have answers. The origin of Tinker Bell’s name would be one of them probably.

She eyed the extended eye then caught Tinker Bell’s instructions. Yes, it was easy for her to say relax. She must be used to it. This was still a fairly new experience for her. What if it went horribly wrong? But Tinker Bell seemed so genuine that it was difficult to say no. It was like having a child before her. A child desperately in need of fun. So she pushed away the anxiety keeping her down and focused on the happiness. Looked to her ring and focused on what that made her feel. And gradually she began to lift higher and higher.

Tinker Bell was enjoying greatly this moment she was sharing with this strange, Wendy looking woman, and she was glad that they had made amends and that Tink had decided to show her how to fly. She hoped, as well, that Christine would like to fly more often, as it seemed to be something special to the humans since humans couldn't actually fly on their own.

When Tink noticed Christine relax, and begin to ascend higher, clapping her hands in excitement. Tink extended both of her arms out, to make them look like airplane wings, watching Christine, "like this!" She mounted, tiny little bell voice ringing cheerfully. She wished Peter was here to show Christine the way to do things properly, considering Tink was so small and humans couldn't understand her.

It was thrilling, having someone share her gift. It was almost like she was back in Neverland having adventures and making the boys fly. She missed that, but being here with Christine sort of made all of that disappear for the moment. Tink wished she could show everyone and have everyone understand the beauty of flight.

Seeing Tinker Bell’s reaction to her made Christine laugh and feel even more relaxed. She was happy. She was making Tinker Bell happy. The instruction was clear and slowly she held her arms out as shown and was amazed by how it changed things. Somehow it made her able to move a lot better. Although she still did not feel comfortable enough to rise so far that things were incredibly distant she guessed going just a few more inches higher would be okay.

“How do you even manage this?”

It had to do with the thoughts given how much they had been forced upon her. Christine could just not see exactly what it was. She may not do this again and in case that was definite she would like to commit everything to memory and that included how it happened. Besides, if she was going to tell Erik all about it then he would like details. She knew him well enough to know that.

She had a feeling that the woman didn't want to go higher, so instead, Tink beckoned Christine forwards, as she flew backwards, using her hands to coax the woman to fly forward instead of up. Maybe she would be more comfortable, and it would be easier for her to fly with her arms out that way.

"Magic!" She replied, mouthing the words, her bell voice tinkling.

Tink hoped Christine would like flying enough that she would want to try it more often. Tink wished people flew everywhere, it would be so magical and not to mention fun. "You can do it!" Tink mouthed, enthusiastically, fluttering around in a circle.

The more Tinker Bell coaxed her, the more confident she felt to move forward as asked. And the more that happened, well, the more confident she became. Laughing a little, she gave those worried thoughts a push out of her mind completely and focused on what was happening now. Imagining the look on Erik's face when she had the chance to tell him what had happened. Oh how she wished he was here.

The explanation of magic just made her laugh more and shake her head. She didn't really believe in magic but if that was what this honestly was it would appear she had to rethink her beliefs. After all, how else could anyone explain what was happening here? Magic was the only thing that really made sense.

"I can't believe I am doing something like this," she said as she moved a bit more. Even if she wasn't comfortable enough to move as Tinker Bell was she could still hover and move a bit higher and forward.

Tinker Bell could make anyone fly at any time if thy had a happy thought I'm their min and continues to think it. Just imagine how useful a talent like Tinker Bells could be, in all aspects of life. She was born to make people fly, it was just what she did, and it worked on multiple people as well, at the same time, not just only one. She made all of the Darling children fly, and there were three.

"You can fly like a bird, just believe!" Tinker Bell mouthed, her wings fluttering on the wins as she continued to fly backwards, as Christine flew forwards. This was exciting. She was doing what she was made for and she was making someone happy in the process. What a joyful thing!

Tinker Bell continued to encourage Christine and it did help. Not that she was desperately worried anymore, the fairy had helped see to that, but no matter how comfortable she may feel she would need encouragement for some time. At least until it felt closer to normal which she anticipated would take some time. Flying was not normal for a human in any way. But neither was conversing, in a way, with a magical creature. This entire City was not normal.

“I am trying to,” Christine replied to what Tinker Bell had tried to say. It was strange how she was finding it easier to read her lips now than she had seemed to at first. Perhaps she would just get used to that since it would be the only way to communicate with her. And, at the moment, Christine rather wanted to continue conversing in any way she could.

“Perhaps once we are done here you will let me get you some new clothing?”

She had tried to ask earlier and it had not been a success but perhaps now she knew she was not a threat Tinker Bell would agree? It would not be difficult to find clothing for her after all. Even if, for now, she used left over material or cut up a scarf.

"Only if we can fly there." Tinker Bell mouthed, offering Christine a wide grin that went from ear to ear. She wanted the woman to be more confident, so even though she didn't have to, Tink continued to hold her arms out like the wings of an airplane, gliding around Christine almost lazily.

"Believe in yourself and you can do anything you want." Tinker Bell mouthed, passing Christines field of vision, ready to move on to something different. Pixies had an awful short attention span.

"Are you from this world?" Tink inquired, mouthing the question at Christine, just curious. She was from Neverland, of course, and while she even missed Captian Hook and the ticking Crocodile, she was content being here with her new human friend.

She was eager to see if Christine lived in a house, like Wendy, or a birdhouse like Tink. Humans were strange like that.

"I am not so sure about that."

She was making it seems so easy. Then again, she imagined it would be for the fairy. It was natural for her. Christine was used to moving with her feet firmly on the ground. Surely she could be forgiven for not feeling very sure about this? About just what to accept and how to do this whole entire thing? Humans were not made to fly. Not that Tinker Bell seemed to agree with that train of thought given her current situation.

What she said about her believing in herself meant more than perhaps Tinker Bell knew. Christine had problems, at times, believing in her own abilities. Believing in everything she could do. Erik helped. Of course he did, he applauded what she did and making him happy made her realise how well she was doing. But every performer....Every woman had moments of lacking belief.

"No I am not," she answered. Again, it had taken a second for Christine to process what Tinker Bell had said. "I came here a few months ago."

She was doing so well, Tink didn't really understand why she didn't just want to fly home, but Tink wouldn't push her. She had just gotten her super confident about leaving the grass and the bench. If Christine really wanted to go home with her legs, Tink couldn't stop her and maybe she would want to fly again later. Flying with dust was one of those things that could be done anywhere, indoors and outdoors. "Okay." Tinker Bell mouthed, being agreeable for once.

When Christine mentioned she was not of this world, Tink wondered how many people, big or small, came from other places like them.

"When you're ready to stop flying, just point your feet towards the ground and think about going down." Se mouthed, getting close enough so Christine could see the instructions. Tink put her legs together, pointing them toward the ground, and floated slowly downwards into the grass, letting her wings stay still until she had settled into the grass, which was almost taller than she was. She looked up, seeing Christine floating over her, before flitting her wings again, shooting out of the grass towards her new friend. Easy.

She was glad that Tinker Bell did not seem offended or upset that Christine wasn't feeling confident enough to keep this up for a very long time. Surely it was understandable that she would feel like that? It had to be. She had the feeling that this was not the first time Tinker Bell had helped someone fly so she must be used to that brief moment of feeling unsure. Of being a little scared. But then she moved closer and when her mouth started moving she focused again on her lips to try and understand what was being said.

It helped that she then went on to physically demonstrate it.

"That's how I stop?" she repeated, in her own words, just to make sure she got the message right. Not that she imagined she could get it wrong since she physically showed her the message. "I will keep that in my mind, thank you. I am not quite wishing to stop right now but I will wish to soon, I imagine."

Especially since she wanted to get Tinker Bell clothed.

Tinker Bell had understood, but once people got used to the idea of flying, it became easier and they were willing to try it more and more. It wasn't something anyone could get used to over night, especially with things that normally didn't fly, however Nana, the housemaid dog seemed to have enjoyed her brief moment flying. At least she seemed to in Tinks opinion.

Tinker Bell fluttered into the sky once more, flitting around Christine almost lazily, nodding in response to Christine's question about being able to stop. It was that, or start losing your happy thought. That was a bad way to do it, however as you were liable to drop right put of the sky.

She would be willing to allow Christine all of the time she wanted to enjoy flying, though it was an experience that she could have again, whenever she wanted. All he had to do was ask. Flying was so useful for many things, and it was easier to get places when you flew. That's how she and Peter and the Darlings got to and from Neverland.

Tinker Bell really was making this seem so easy which she didn't blame her for. It was her way of being. Christine knew that her company would probably wait until she was ready to finish but Christine did feel guilty about stopping. Then again, just because Christine may want to stop didn't mean Tinker Bell had to. Tinker Bell probably would have to keep flying once they started walking just to keep up. But she would try to fix her pace when the time arrived.

"Perhaps I should stop now. Get you seen to?"

She could fly any time since Tinker Bell seemed willing to do so. To help her fly. But Christine did not want the fairy freezing or anything. So clothes and perhaps a little water to clean up seemed to be needed. Something to freshen the poor woman up.

It was easy for her, and she wished there was some way she could show Christine the way the lost boys and the other humans from her world flew. That would make it easier, but Tink didn't have the means to show her, much less talk to her about it. She did have wings, after all, so flying for her was like walking for humans. She could walk too, but that was beside the point. Tink could fly alongside Christine, or ride on her as she walked, it didn't make a difference. She didn't weigh very much, if anything at all, being only three inches tall. "When you're ready!" Tinker Bell replied, mouthing, only responding in her little chimes. She would be ready when Christine was, wanting her to enjoy the flying as long as she wanted to. It wasn't like the pixie had any pressing business to attend to, or anywhere she needed to be.

"Perhaps we should go now? I do not want you to get cold."

She would do so in such a flimsy outfit. Pointing her toes down and thinking on going to the floor, she soon had both feet firmly on the ground. Better. As fun as flying had been, as much as she had flew, she liked to be like this. But she would probably ask Tinker Bell to repeat the process some time in the future. Maybe let Erik see.

"We should get a car to take us back to my home. It's quite a walk, I wouldn't want to tire you out."

At the suggestion of leaving, Tinker Bell nodded at Christine, waiting for her lead, considering that the tiny pixie had no idea where she was even going.

Once Christine was on the ground, as humans really should be, Tink flitted over to her, hovering in the air. When Christine mentioned a car, Tink made a confused face, not knowing what a car was. "What's a car?" Tink mouthed, unfamiliar with the technology from this world. She knew about houses, and dogs, as well as books and she knew how to write human language as well as read it, since Peter had taught her in case she ever got into trouble somewhere in the real world.

She figured that Christine wouldn't do anything to hurt her, so she was willing to at least see what a car was, after that point, however, there were no promises.

Christine was in the middle of sending a message to give her location for the car to be brought to them, hopefully he wasn't too far he had said he would wait, when Tinker Bell fluttered closer to her. Guessing that meant she wanted to speak to her. Smiling, she looked around and pointed out to the street where the cars were going by. They may not be close enough that every detail of each one could be made out but enough to do them.

"That is a car. It's a way of getting to where you wish to go."

Though she supposed Tinker Bell flew everywhere and cars were rather new for Christine too. She was used to them now, she walked most places but sometimes it was better to have the car take her, and she hoped Tinker Bell would trust her.

"We could walk a little while and then get the car to meet us half way." She imagined it would be easier for Tinker Bell to fly but Christine wasn't sure if she could fly that distance.

When Christine pointed, Tink looked over her shoulder at the things that she called car, nodding her head in understanding. She had never seen anything like it before, so her eyes had widened slightly and she fell silent as she looked at the car as each one drove past them.

Tink flew everywhere, she could get to Earth and then back to Neverland, so flying wasn't the issue for her, but she was curious and she wanted to see the 'car' up close. She turned back to Christine and nodded at her in agreement, having a better idea, that was if Christine didn't mind. Tink was tiny enough that she could fit into a shirt pocket or sit on someone's shoulder as long as they were keeping a steady walking pace. She was, afterall, only three inches tall and didn't weigh very much. So, with that, Tink trusted Christine enough to sit on her shoulder, so Christine could take them quickly to the car.
