Fangtasia (Open to all who want to)
Eric looked around the bar. Appearance wise, it was exactly how he wanted it. Everything was in it's place. The location, however, was still bothering him. He hadn't even really left to explore at all, so he had no idea what was out there. He'd decided that the best way to get to know the people was to draw them in. So he'd had the posters put up by one of the stupid girls who had come to work for him.

He'd thought the twit human he'd had before was bad. The ones, other than George, who had come to find work with him had proven to be no better than goldfish. They had wide, sparkly eyes and ridiculously puckered lips and seemed to drift in circles until he told them specifically what they should be doing. It was obnoxious. He hated all of them. But he couldn't open the bar until he had a staff, and unfortunately, they were the best he could find on short notice. He wasn't willing to put off opening for too long. He needed something to do. Something to keep his mind from stewing about the strange things he'd discovered. Such as - apparently they didn't need deliveries. Every day the bar was refreshed with product. The fact that things around his bar seemed to change on the outside. The store that was across the way one day was not the store that was across the way the next.

At this point, he just needed distraction. Distraction and a way to meet people. Both of which the bar was good at.

Right at ten sharp, he unlocked the front door and placed one of the girls outside as the greeter. He'd rather have had a vampire out there, but as he didn't know any here, he had to make due with what he had. It had caused him a brief amount of wonder, were there any other vampires in this place? He'd sensed nor smelled none since he'd been here, at least not close by. That was both disconcerting and rather interesting. Imagine, being the only vampire in a city. What he could do with that.

Eric returned to his throne at the back of the bar. The place he always sat when the doors opened. Through most of the night, as well. Ready for humans and vampires alike to present themselves to him. It was also the place with the best view of the entire club. There wasn't a corner he couldn't see into, save for the other rooms in back. Luckily he could hear well enough to know if there was anything undue going on back there.

The girls waited for their first customers. A couple danced lazily, joined by a handful of males, at various places scattered about the large open room. Some with poles, some just up on especially sturdy tables. Things he'd arranged for vampires to dance on, not normal humans. But what could he do?

Veronica had expected a bar full of wannabe goths. A lot of white pancake makeup and black lipstick. And sure, that element was definitely here... draped on each other and also on people that looked like something her brain really was having difficulty processing.

She was seated at the bar, all the way at the end. She thought of the weekend she and Logan had spent watching the Blade movies. And Underworld. It had been Vampire Weekend, with red wine and songs from the band of the same name. Also a lot of neck biting.

The fliers all over the city had made finding an apartment take a backseat to investigating. She'd wished she'd gotten Eddie's number, too. Could've asked him out.

Was it possible that this was real? She looked steadily at a vampire talking to a blond girl. He was sitting on a throne.

Veronica hadn't brought her camera with her, not wanting to risk it being taken from her. Now she wished she had it.

This guy looked like the real deal. And now that she realized that might be possible, the hair on her arms stood on end.

Eric eyed the second blond, amused that he would have two in his presence at once. But since he couldn't attend to her personally, he motioned for a waitress to wander over and take her order.

"Hello, Deary. You get to drink free all night! What would you like?"

The woman was attractive, scantily clad, and dimmer than a dying light bulb.

Dearly? Seriously? Who said things like that?

Veronica was impressed they'd accepted her fake ID, but then again, she always had the best fakes. This one she'd made herself.

She thought about what came in bottles, sealed. There was no way she needed another incident on her hands, especially if this place was the real deal. Vampires and roofies did not seem like a good mix.

"Bottle of beer," she said.

It was serious work for Veronica not to comment on her outfit. When the woman came back with the drink, which took less than a minute and which Veronica saw the bartender remove from a fridge and open, she figured she could ask some questions.

"Who bought me this?" she asked. "Drinking free all night... how do you know I'm not capable of drinking Brick over there under the table?"

She nodded toward a man at a nearby table who appeared to actually have no neck.

The waitress looked confused for a moment. "That's what it says on the sign, the one by the door? First ten drink free all night. But if you're really curious enough to look a gift horse in the mouth, the boss is right over there." She pointed to the man at the throne, who was now occupied only with glancing around at the patrons.

"I wouldn't be quite so unthankful in front of him, if I were you."

Veronica felt momentarily stupider than this woman. But then she looked around again. There were certainly more than 10 people here. Had she been tenth? She didn't know.

And it wasn't like people paid her to be observant or anything. Maybe a lot of those people worked here, now that she thought about it, and looked more closely.

I wouldn't be quite so unthankful in front of him, if I were you.

So it was the throne guy. Veronica made a mental note not to have more than the one beer.

"Ah." She smiled broadly and stupidly, doing her best dumb blond impression. "Cheers."

She took a sip of the beer, debating how to exploit the waitress in front of her in the best possible way.

"Is he really a... vampire? Is that politically correct?" She paused. "Undead citizen?"

"Real as I am standing here." The waitress replied. Sensing the gaze of her boss, the woman moved away from the blond and found a new customer. One that would be paying, and hopefully tipping.

Veronica slammed the beer.

Either that woman was really a good liar--doubtful--or she really believed what she was saying. Veronica didn't need to know if it was all true or not. Throne Guy gave her a reason to believe he was a vampire.

She no longer wanted to be here. Not alone, anyway.

She fished in her bag and took out a few dollars for tip, leaving them on the bar, then turned to leave, quite calm and collected, and without turning into jello in front of Throne Guy.

She made a note to come back here with something or someone more threatening than the tazer in her bag. For all Veronica knew, a tazer was fun for vampires. Maybe it made their hearts beat.
