Puppy Toys! (open)
Late at night, under the light of the full moon, he was out on the prowl. A new place meant the possibility of new prey. He liked new prey. It kept his hunting skills sharp. Tonight wasn’t about feeding; he just wanted to get to know his new home.

He liked the park. It had a nice open area for running and trees for him to use for cover while stalking his prey. His human half actually liked it when he went running. He could actually feel Larry’s joy as he ran full speed across the park. Places like this made it good to be a wolf.

Or at least a wolf man.

He was starting to get hungry, but he couldn’t find any of the large two-legged prey that he liked so much. But there were plenty of rabbits to satisfy him. He was actually just finishing a rabbit when something ran in front of his face. His nose twitched at the unfamiliar scent. It smelled like shamrocks and gold. And whiskey. More of the creatures ran past him.

He growled quietly as more and more of the creatures started running around him. He reached out with one paw and caught one of the creatures. He pinned it to the ground and studied the creature. It looked like the large two-legged prey, but it was much smaller. It was wearing all green clothes and had fur on its face. He wasn’t sure what it was, but it seemed easy to catch. They were bigger than the rabbits, so they might be a better meal. If they tasted good.

The wolf man growled louder and bared his fangs, ready to take a sample bite from his new prey. He was a bit surprised when the prey looked more annoyed than afraid. He wasn’t use to that kind of reaction. He growled louder and moved in for the kill.

“No, no. Bad werewolf!” The wolf man heard someone yelling in a thick Irish accent. He turned his head to see who was yelling and saw one of the small preys coming towards him as quickly as its little legs would carry him. The wolf man growled at the little man. It responded by hitting the wolf man on the nose with the heavy little stick it was carrying.

The wolf man jerked back and blinked. The attack hadn’t really hurt him and the stick was just wood, not silver. But he had just been surprised that one of the little prey had come to the aid of the one he was going to eat. The one he had pinned to the ground escaped and started running away from him. That meant one thing to the wolf man.

These were not for prey, they were for play. With a very wolfish grin, the wolf man ran after one of the little men. He caught the first one and batted it to the side. The little man went flying from the force of the blow and landed at the base of a tree. It was going to be a lot of fun for him to knock them around. And if he got hungry, he could always have a snack.

With great joy, the wolf man chased the leprechauns around the park.

The wolf man was having so much fun with the little green toys. They made interesting squeaking noises when he hit them and they tasted like corned beef and whiskey. One or two of them tried to give him shiny gold coins if he would leave them alone. But the coins weren’t ass much fun as the green toys.

His head jerked up as new scents came to his sensitive nose. Prey? He looked over at the first scent. Definitely not prey. There was something about the tall, dark-furred, two-legged male that told the wolf man to leave him alone. That did not stop him from growling when the male kicked one of his toys.

The other scent was a female, not as dangerous as the male. She had one of those … What did Larry call them? Guns? She had a gun and she was pointing it at him and the male. The wolf man caught another scent then, one that made him growl and dig his claws into the little green toy he had pinned to the ground.

Silver. The female had brought the one thing that could hurt him. How had she known? He was certain he had never hunted in this territory before. And he knew he had not killed any prey here yet. Somehow she knew that he was there and that he was vulnerable to that metal.

The wolf man crouched lower, growling at the female. As long as she kept her distance and let him get back to his fun, then the wolf man would not feel the need to make a meal out of her.

Crowley's head slowly turned to face the girl holding the gun. Very slowly. He studied her, she was single-handedly the strangest looking girll he had seen in this city thus far. And there was something else about her, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. Didn't matter really. He was bored with her already. The wolf was far more interesting.

So even though she had a gun pointed at him, Crowley slowly turned his head back to watch the wolf. She was unimportant. He didn't particularly want to get shot, but didn't think he would either. If was she was planning on shooting him, she would have done it already.

"If you're not going to fire, put the gun down. It's bad manners." He said, gaze remaining on the wolf, but keeping her in his peripheral vision. He didn't particularly care about her manners, but even evil had standards.

He crossed his arms over his chest, annoyed by the little green leprechauns roaming about. Even his normally black suit was tinged with a slight green. Most displeasing.

Her eyebrow arched.

Manners? Really? Did he not see the wolfman?

Fray blinked in surprise at what the guy had said and took a step back. She was pretty convinced she should be firing, actually.

Her gaze went from the guy to the wolf and remained on the wolf. "Should he really be doing that? This can't be right," she said.

The gun lowered slightly and her eyes went back to Crowley. "THAT's gotta be bad manners," the slayer continued. "You can't just chomp down on little green guys. That's more than a little bit splin, anyway. Besides..."

Both eyebrows widened, and Buffy would have appreciated the delivery, here.

"... wolf!" she said, emphatically.

The female did not seem to be paying much attention to him, so the wolf man didn’t think of her as an immediate threat. He wasn’t going to forget she was there, but he saw no need to stop in his fun to worry about her. There were still quite a few of the little green playthings running around.

The wolf man pounced on another green plaything, growling in its little face. The smell of fear was thick on this one, something that amused the wolf. He liked that scent; it made him want to scare them more. He had found that most of the beings like Larry were easy to frighten. The sight of him alone seemed to cause fear. If he growled and bared his fangs, the fear only increased.

He flinched back when he felt something hit his sensitive nose. One of the other little green playthings had come to the aid of his friend and was hitting the wolf man on the nose with the stick it carried. The wolf man tilted his head, looking at the plaything with the stick. He growled to show his displeasure at the assault and was rewarded with another blow to his nose.

“No. Bad dog!”

Crowley snorted. He hardly considered chomping on little leprechauns to be bad manners. To him it was perfectly reasonable. The little things looked like prey to the wolf, hell, to an extent they looked like prey to Crowley, but prey in a totally different way.

They were just begging to be kicked, swatted at, even killed.

He didn't know what 'a little bit splin' meant, but Crowley was fairly certain he disagreed with that as well.

He watched as the little leprechauns started attacking the wolfman back. "See, no harm no foul. They're fighting back." Though, he didn't particularly care for them to be fighting back. He would have rather have watched the wolf eat the little guys.

"You mortals and your 'morals.'" He made air quotes with his fingers, then went back to crossing his arms.

Fray crossed her arms and glared at the... she was pretty sure now he was a demon, just unsure of what kind... next to her.

"Wolf," she said again, just as emphatically. "My morals are just fine. If he's chompin' through half those leprechauns, how long is it gonna take him to chomp through people?"

She really wished Wes was here. She didn't know what to do with leprechauns.

This had to be...

"Magic did this," she said under her breath. Then, a completely deadpan "yay" followed.

The Wolf Man was not terribly amused by the little green toy hitting his nose with the stick. It reminded him of when Larry’s sire had hit him with the bad silver stick. He tried growling again, to show the plaything that he was treading on dangerous territory. The plaything wasn’t impressed with the wolf’s teeth; it just hit him again.

He was tired of that one. He raised his paw and knocked the plaything with the stick over to the dark male and the female. They looked like they needed some time to play. Maybe if they played, they would stop watching him. He wasn’t even sure why they were watching. There had to be other things to play with around here if they didn’t like the little green toys.

Content that he had helped the two humans, the wolf went back to playing. He would probably eat one of the little green playthings soon. He liked the size of them. They would make a nice meal and there wouldn’t be any left to waste. Larry was never good about reclaiming the kills he made for a second meal. The wolf always had to get more food each night he was out. These were perfect, though. He hoped he could find them again the next time the moon called him out.

He quickly made a meal of the plaything he had under his paws. Happily fed, he went back to playing.
