So, I'm going to follow suit.
I'm the great Nelwyn of the Southern uhm..yeah, I'm Nel(s). Sometimes I'm plural.
First up is Fred Burkle of Angel fame. She hails from right before "Waiting in the Wings" of season three. She hasn't kissed Gunn yet. She's been in the City for three years, which is a long time. She's finding her way, but without a constant support system, she's still suffering a little of the old Fredness - the Pylea Fred craziness. Thankfully she's managed to stop writing on the walls, but the City has refused to give her a computer this whole time - well, one that will do all the lovely math she wants it to do. The City keeps her technotoys scaled down. She tends to adopt wayward types, and is living in Angel's old apartment (the one that gets blown up at the end of season 1). Just adding that because it could be fun to have people stumble in on the old Angel Investigations spot. She's up for making friends and finding lost souls. Fred has somewhat accepted that she is in a very bizarre state of reality, City craziness aside. While she knows what happens in her future if she had remained on the path the show set for her, she has decided that the City is not on that path and lives how she wants.
Next we have Simon Tam
i_conform, older and only brother to River Tam
i_feel. Simon has been in the City for a little while now, yet he still wishes the City's technology was more advanced. He works rather hard in the ER, and is always good for fixing people up. For a while there, he seemed to be meeting a new person every day in the ER. He'd probably like to have some friends who aren't looking for free medical attention and who aren't too bothered by his still lacking social skills.
Then there's Zoe Washburne
warrior_woman. She's from after Serenity, meaning she doesn't have a Wash. She's actually been in the City for a while and has become an interesting fixture in the City's crime fighting scene. She's got a secret. She's Batman. Giving her a sidekick could be fun, but then so could just seeing her kick tail or hang out. She could use some hanging out that has nothing to do with crime fighting or Alfred, not that he's a bad guy, but sometimes a girl could use people her own age (ha!). Some posts for Zoe/Batmanness - Some serious thought to things & Alone again? Choices made. Bruce Wayne narratives sort of related - On the move & Fade away.
Here's Baba Yaga of Fables -
i_cast. Baba's taken from right after Mr. Dark starts to wreck havoc in Fabletown, NY. She's freed when the magics stop working, and instead of crawling up to the streets of NYC, she ends up crawling up to the streets of the City. She's got a strange deal with the City, and has a tendency to push its buttons, just like it pushes hers. The latest button push from the City is her chicken legged log cabin which stays in the Park for now. Would be interesting to see people get into it or cause trouble with it, but be warned. Baba's not a very nice playmate. Fun times!
Last, but not least. He wouldn't think himself so either way, as last is first when you go far enough around. Charlie Crews
i_zen is a police detective who recently, relatively, was freed from prison. Exonerated actually with DNA evidence. He did not commit the crime, murders and theft, but he is seeking retribution for them. He won a great deal of money, which doesn't matter to him too much. He just wants his car and a roof over his head; the money was just a nice little "we're sorry" from the LAPD. He tries to live in the now and be free from anger, but sometimes that's a little hard. Charlie can and will do what he must to find justice. Oh, yeah. He really has a thing for fruit.
