Leigh smiled sweetly and waved as her students exited her room after the last bell of the day chimed and when the last straggler made it out into the hallway, she quickly straightened out the desks and gathered her things. She briefly glanced over her planner, frowning slightly when she realized she needed to make some copies for Monday, before she quickly shut it and stuffed it into her bag, acting as if she never saw it at all. It was irresponsible of the blonde, sure, but making copies could wait. If she had to get up earlier on Monday, so be it. She didn't care. Her students and their learning were important to her, but Kip was important, too. And it wasn't every day that she got to spend time with him out on his boat. They were making progress... and she wasn't about to screw it all up by being late because she stuck around and made copies.
Flipping the lights off in her room once she'd pulled her tote bag and purse over her shoulder, she shut her door and told the other teachers on her team to have a good weekend before bee-lining it to the parking lot. Pulling her keys out of her purse and then throwing the bags into the back, Leigh climbed into the driver's seat of her Jeep and started the SUV up.
It didn't take her long to get back to her house and, leaving the Jeep running, she grabbed her bags from the back and bolted into the house to change into the shirt she'd left out that morning. Thankfully Fridays meant she could wear jeans to school so she didn't have to worry about changing out of a pair of slacks or something. Adjusting the blue t-shirt, Leigh quickly tugged her long hair back into pigtails and then kicked off her heels. Her feet wormed their way into a pair of sneakers she had waiting by the door and she was off again, driving her Jeep around the lake to Unit #2.
Parking her Jeep at the curb, she took one final look at herself in the mirror on her sun visor before she got out of the vehicle. Locking the door, she shoved her keys into her front pocket and made her way up to Kip's porch. Leigh placed one hand on the railing when she reached it and was about to climb the few stairs to his door when she heard some noise coming from the back.
Dropping her hand, she quietly made her way around the house, smiling when she peeked around the corner and saw Kip already on his boat. Moving to the stairs that led down to his dock, Leigh lifted a hand to her face to shield her eyes from the sun. "Getting started without me?" she called in a teasing tone, moving her hand to wave when he looked her way.
