In a week Aidan will have been two for a whole month. He hasn't shown many of the signs of what every blog I've read calls "the terrible two's" but I'm prepared. What I have noticed from him is that he's been quiet and sad for days. Nothing we do can bring a smile to his face. At first I thought he may be sick but he just had a checkup and he was perfectly healthy. And then it dawned on me when he threw a book about birthdays across his room today. He has never gotten the chance to celebrate his birthday. I was absent for his first birthday and his second was spent with the two of us bonding. I've spent the last hour debating the pros and cons of planning a party for him despite his birthday having passed. And now I come to you for your opinions. Should I plan a small party for him?

I think that a party might be good for both of you.

You're probably right. I wasn't the most sociable person before coming here and a party would be a step towards changing that. It would also make Claudia happy. I suppose now I just need to choose a theme and date for his party.

I think it's also good for children to socialise from an early age.

Although, I would have no idea how to theme a party nowadays.

The books I read said the same.

Children's parties are typically themed around something they like.

You said nowadays, what year was it before you came here?

1918. This place has been somewhat of an adjustment. Although, not as much as it is for some, I'd imagine.
