"Of course I will!" she replied eagerly, a giggle in her voice. "You'll be the cutest university student ever. Oh god, it's ridiculous to think that's cute, isn't it?" The poor kid from Dublin couldn't have hoped for the education he was able to get here. There was an entire world in front of him now and it made her almost as giddy as it did him.
She was still slightly in shock, especially when she rested her hand on his chest and felt the firm beating of his heart. And if she thought it would take her a while to adjust, that was nothing compared to how it would affect him. But she'd do whatever he needed. She trusted him to tell her when he needed help, when he needed to be alone for a bit. If they did this together, they'd be fine.
Which was only confirmed when he said what he did and she felt her heart swell. "You were worth it," she admitted. "First guy to ever look at me the way you do? To...well, to actually love me? I'd do whatever you needed. You treated me differently-like I was special. You deserved that, too. And trust me..." Her voice trailed off as she fought off a ridiculous and useless sob. This was silly. "You're more than what I could hope to deserve."
