You know that you spend too much time with teenagers when your son's girlfriend forgets to filter you out of discussions about Halloween costumes that involve deciding between sexy or cute costumes.

I'm not sure if I should be glad that they're not hiding things or worried because they're not hiding things.

Maybe I need a hobby that could keep me from spotting this sort of thing. I'm taking suggestions as of now.

So, are you guys too old to do the pumpkin carving thing? And popcorn balls?

Just figured I'd check. I'm going to the grocery store for some things tomorrow too, so if anybody needs anything speak now or forever hold your piece. And yes, I'm purposefully ignoring halloween costume talk

Are you sufficiently embarrassed?

Sure, I guess we can stop embarrassing you now. Or I can, anyway, I don't speak for your best friend, obviously.

I don't count on it with him and Lydia tag-teaming me, here.

I'd offer to ground him, but I'm against unnecessary and unfair punishment.

Of course you have to go say something sweet like that, you brat. I love you too.

But you do a pretty good job of being independent, Scott. And that's not a bad thing. You don't always need me, but I'm definitely always here, and joking aside you know I'm behind you.

What? It's just true. I love you, mom.

I guess I do. I know you are, you've always been there, mom. It's why you're a billion times better than da

True and very specially timed.

Hey, no need to guess, I'm telling you that you do, and it's one of the things I'm proud of. I didn't raise you too badly.

You've always been awesome, Mom. No matter what's been thrown at you, you just...always adjust and adapt and you're amazing.

Helps to have a kid that adjusts pretty well and is hard to ruin.
