You know that you spend too much time with teenagers when your son's girlfriend forgets to filter you out of discussions about Halloween costumes that involve deciding between sexy or cute costumes.

I'm not sure if I should be glad that they're not hiding things or worried because they're not hiding things.

Maybe I need a hobby that could keep me from spotting this sort of thing. I'm taking suggestions as of now.

So, are you guys too old to do the pumpkin carving thing? And popcorn balls?

Just figured I'd check. I'm going to the grocery store for some things tomorrow too, so if anybody needs anything speak now or forever hold your piece. And yes, I'm purposefully ignoring halloween costume talk

No, certainly not. Some things mom just doesn't need to know. Basically ever. Well, I've been here for about a year now, so it's just sort of...the way things are now.

I'll talk to her about it, then!

Likewise, love.

I may or may not be purposefully embarrassing him to make up for it. But I'd never admit to it if I were. Damned if it isn't sort of insane to think about just getting used to it, though.

It's completely harmless!

He was 9 when I last saw him.

It's little ways of paying them back like that that make parenting fun.

Damn! 9 to an adult....you're better than me, I'd be pretty damn confused and nowhere near as calm.

Isn't it?!

It took some serious adjusting. But...despite everything I missed, and as much as he's changed, he's still my rabbit son.

Definitely. That and eating their Halloween candy when they're young.

I'm just going to hope that Scott never pulls that on me because I already have no idea what I'm doing and that'd make it twenty times worse.

It was my favorite thing about Halloween!

I would say probably not, but then with the Seal you never really know what might happen, I suppose.

That and taking pictures of the tinier version of my kid in his costume. He had a few lame ones that I had to make, but he pulled them off, anyway.

Knock on wood and cross some fingers, then.

I usually made Peter's, too.

Consider it done.

Were you better at the costume making than I was? I think I definitely almost stuck my kid in a sheet to be a ghost and then changed my mind.

Some were better than others. I didn't have many Halloweens with hi

Guess that can be said for anything you do. Some things turn out better than others.

You could tell the ones that happened in a rush because I ran out of time or got distracted.
