Catwoman
I think tomorrow, at some point after Jesse's party in the afternoon, I need to get stupidly drunk and I'm worried if I'm on my own I'll do something I probably shouldn't, like get on the boards or send drunken texts. Join me to distract me from doing that? Preferably with funny movies we haven't seen yet.

Is all of this about the stuff with your Disney princess?

Yes. Yes, it is. And it's also about the fact that I can't seem to have any semblance of a relationship without me putting my foot in my mouth and massively screwing things up.

In fairness - but also not really - to yourself, you didn't need to put your foot in your mouth. What's going on between you and Anna is already kinda complicated, isn't it?

Complicated sounds about right. She already thought we were dating. And I probably should have asked her what she thought about us before everyone in town made their opinions known and I didn't. That fuck-up's on me. But the way I brought it up just confused her and that was the last thing I wanted to do. She asked me to give her time and I'm doing that. But I screwed up and I don't think there's a way to fix it.

Yeeeeaaaahh, it probably wouldn't have hurt to have that part cleared up between the two of you.

But, dude, she's not even on the same dating level as you. This is the same girl who wanted to marry some random prince she met on the SAME FREAKIN' DAY SHE MET HIM. Do you really want to get yourself invested in a relationship with someone who wants to run off with the first guy she meets who agrees with her?

I know. Trust me, I've thought about that. That's part of the reason I was looking at this as "friendship with possibility of more" most of the time. But yeah. I don't know. I'm about to consider just becoming a handsome hermit who forgoes romantic relationships. Less headaches that way.

But why would you look at it like that when you know she's got the mentality of a sixteen year old Twi-hard? I've seen plenty of other ladies at the places we've been out to that would love to get a shot at the Captain. Why go for one that's only going to give you trouble? Sounds to me like you're looking for headaches and heartbreaks when you could be working your way to happiness. Do I need to get my Dr. Phil on and psychoanalyze your ass?

No, you don't. I just hadn't planned on actually wanting anything more. It just...happened. As much as I hate to say it, part of me hopes she decides she doesn't want anything to do with me only because then she can find somebody who's better for her than me. Somebody everyone won't question his motives or confuse her even more.

You mean someone who also has the brains of a twelve year old? Sounds like a win/win for both of you, dude.

I guess. Anyway, want to come over? I think having company would be good regardless. If nothing else you can get funny movies out of the day, even if I don't drink myself stupid.
