Here's something I never, ever thought I'd be asking you.

Would you want to babysit little John today? I feel like Freddie deserves a day away, given all he's put up with around here.

He doesn't take much effort. I'll leave you guys money to order a pizza or something and he's got some new books to read. And little you will likely hold it over big him forever.

Of course, if you have other plans, it's fine, honestly! Just let me know, okay?

I won't ever forget her. And I know she's in heaven.

You should keep a journal. Write all those memories down so they're always clear. They fade, over time. I don't want that for you.

That's a good idea. Maybe you can help little me start?

I think that's a brilliant idea, clever girl.

I love you, anya.

I love you, too, little angel.

I have to ask...when did you start calling me that?

I asked you where you were from once. I think I was six or seven? And then I asked you to show me some words, too.

And that's what you chose?
I
I don't know what to

I'm surprised I did. I only speak Hungarian anymore when I'm stressed. My mother sometimes still spoke it at home but it's been years since I've seen her.

I think I was persistent. I know I could be sometimes. Can be.

Do you miss her?

It certainly explains the magic you seem to have over most of us here.

Sometimes. We weren't very close, even when I was a little girl. But I do love her, even now.

I don't know if I'd call it magic...

Why didn't you get on?

I can call it magic if I darn well want to!

Oh, I expect she always wanted me to be something I'm not. We were immigrants and she never wanted anyone looking down on us for it so she tried to shape me into this proper English lady. As you can see, didn't exactly work. And she couldn't stand Freddie.

Well I suppose she can be forgiven for that. Not everyone sees the side of him some of us do.
