Who: Phoebe and Prue
What: Getting Prue up-to-date on things...including the fact she had died in their own world
When: The day Prue arrived here
Where: Apartments after getting picked up
Ratings: TBA depending on Prue's reaction, but most likely nothing worse than swearing and maybe some flinging of objects by telekinesis

Prue was still getting her head wrapped around the fact that she had been pulled in to this world. So many questions were running through her head, especially about why Phoebe had seemed so excited to see her when they had been together not two minutes before Prue wound up on a street corner in this strange city.

Time travel was nothing new to her, Prue had done her share of traveling both in to the past and the future over the past three years. The usual questions of when, where and why were on her mind. She had been given answers, though it was still a bit more to wrap her mind around all at once. Demons? Fine, she could handle that. But having to exorcise them instead of vanquishing them? That was something completely new to her. Either way, she could still kick ass and Phoebe was here, so everything would turn out all right.

"Thank you for coming to get me. It was a little creepy being on that street corner alone," she said to Phoebe, a relieved smile on her lips.

"Kind of. Except he's the actual devil, so he can literally unleash hell on earth." Phoebe gave a small shrug. "I don't understand all of it, but I'm helping out as much as I can." When she wasn't evil thanks to freaking Superman's kryptonite! "I'm learning it. It's a lot more complex than our spells...mainly because it's all in Latin. And you know I'm not the greatest with languages."

As Prue began to talk about the last thing she remembered, Phoebe's face fell. She looked down at her hands, swallowing hard. "Well...when you and Piper saved the doctor, just before bringing him to the house, a news crew caught it on video. I didn't know...I was in the Underwold, trying to find Cole. While I was gone, you two fought him again...and the news crew saw it again. Neither of you knew what to do, and Leo said the elders wouldn't help, so you both finally decided to summon Tempest, the time-loopy demon. When that didn't really work, I...I made a deal with the Source. Leo, Cole, and I were in the Underworld while time reset...but he lied." She should've known, because back then, so many demons were betrayed them. Even Cole.

"You...you died." Phoebe was in tears by now, both from telling the story and from remembering all that had happened. "I couldn't save you."

"You and Latin, now that's something I would love to hear." Prue couldn't help the little impish grin that crossed her face. She never passed up an opportunity to poke fun at her little sister.

Prue listened as Phoebe explained what had happened back in their world. She couldn't repress the little eye roll at the mention of Cole. But then when Phoebe finally said that she had died, Prue froze. Even her breath caught in her throat. "I died?" She started laughing, thinking Phoebe was just pulling her leg, but when she saw the tears on Phoebe's face, her laughing died abruptly. Her face drained of color as she realized just what Phoebe was telling her. She was dead back home, in the time that Phoebe had come from. So that meant the Power of Three had been broken? The Source had won? Had she died just like their mother had so long ago?

It was almost too much to take at once. Prue leaned her elbows on her knees and buried her face in her hands, not wanting to believe it was true. But it did explain a few things. Tears began to well up in Prue's eyes when she lifted her head and looked back at Phoebe. "So in the time you came from...I wasn't there anymore? Did I...did I die...like...like m-" Her voice cut off before she could actually say it, but she hoped Phoebe understood what she meant. Her fear of water was still there, but it wasn't nearly as strong as it used to be. Barbas and then fighting the water demon that had killed their mother had made her face the fear, but she still disliked it. And if her death involved water in any amount, she wouldn't know how she would handle that.

Phoebe looked over at Prue as she covered her face. She hated having to tell her this, but...it had to be done, right? She'd have to explain Paige, and Wyatt would have eventually slipped up.

"Like...no, no Prue, you didn't." She scooted closer and slid an arm around her oldest sister, hugging her tightly. "No, you died fighting, saving an innocent." It was Phoebe who had messed up. Years later, when the Cleaners had shown up, she couldn't help but wonder why they didn't fix things somehow back then?

"There's more...when you're ready to hear it." She kept the arm around Prue, waiting until she was ready.

It was a relief to hear that she hadn't died like their mother. As Phoebe slid an arm around her, Prue leaned against her and closed her eyes, trying her hardest to keep from crying. The only emotion Prue had never been able to handle well was sadness. She slid an arm around Phoebe and hugged her back, her head resting against her shoulder.

Now it all made sense. She now knew why she had been able to see the Angel of Death only a short time before, and why he had said her name had been next on his list. He had come for her after all, and she had been pulled here just before she had died.

"Why am I not surprised there's more?" Prue commented and took some deep breaths to try and keep from freaking out. If she didn't watch it, what she was feeling would turn to anger and trigger her telekinesis. If she couldn't get a grip on her emotions, things would start flying as it usually did when her emotions ran rampant.

It took a couple minutes, but she finally calmed down to the point where she thought she could take some more. "Okay, what else is there?" What else could there possibly be? Piper having gotten killed somewhere down the line? Phoebe marrying Cole?

"So much has happened..." Phoebe trailed off, taking a deep breath. "But I guess the thing that's most important is Paige. Do you remember mom's Whitelighter, Sam?" She figured Prue would. They'd met him at the camp where their mother had died, which had been a rough time for all three of them. She kept her arm around Prue as she nodded, then continued.

"Well...mom had an affair with him, and became pregnant. She gave the baby up for adoption, and...well, Paige is our half sister. She's younger than me, and she kept her last name, Matthews." Phoebe pulled back slightly so she could watch her sister's face to see how she was coping with the news. "After you...were gone, Piper tried everything she could to get you back. Her spells ended up getting us to notice Paige and she...became one of the Charmed Ones." She suddenly realized how that might sound, and spoke up quickly. "Not that she was a replacement for you, at all. No one could ever replace you, Prue."

Prue listened intently, then when Phoebe said Paige was their sister, she barely reacted, at least until Phoebe mentioned she had become one of the Charmed Ones. Being the prideful person she was, she did take it as they had found a replacement for her. Despite Phoebe's reassurance, her jaw was set a bit in anger. She lifted her head from Phoebe's shoulder, but did not pull away from her.

"So the Power of Three was re-constituted then?" It was a rhetorical question asked through clenched teeth. She wasn't upset with Paige or Phoebe, she was upset with her fate. She had so many plans for her future, she had finally become happy and was following her dreams, then she just died? It was just like the powers that be to dangle carrots, then take it all away from her. She couldn't explain how she felt. It was difficult for her to hear this, though she would have to hear it sooner or later.

She shook her head and took a deep breath, trying to keep her cool. "So, Paige is Sam's daughter. That explains the orbing," she finally said as calmly as she could, though her teeth were still clenched at this point. No matter how angry she would get at the powers that be, it wouldn't change anything, least of all having another sister. It was really strange knowing Paige was her sister, but that was to be expected. She thought about asking Phoebe questions about Paige, but then she could just ask Paige herself. She was taking some slow breaths, to keep herself in check so her powers wouldn't go awry. This was really a lot to take at once, but in perfect Prue fashion, she was trying to keep calm and not letting much out, though she was starting to want to punch something.

Phoebe nodded even though Prue hadn't asked a real question. "And yeah, Paige is like Wyatt, basically." Only with not quite the same abilities, apparently. She took her arm from around her sister and took Prue's hands instead. "Prue, listen. I know how you feel." Before she could protest, Phoebe continued.

"It's not a figure of speech. I meant it literally-my powers have grown and it turns out that I have a new ability that I'm still getting used to somewhat-I'm empathic." In other words, she could feel the war of emotions going on inside her sister at the moment-from the pain to the anger and everything in between.

"You're an empath?" She was surprised, and remembered the time she herself had been an empath. It had just been a trap laid by demons, but she understood that. Being an empath had nearly torn her apart, and here Phoebe was, an empath, feeling everything she felt. She looked at Phoebe, seeing that she was handling the power better than she had. As a result, she didn't feel too guilty about Phoebe feeling her pain, anger, confusion and everything in between. A tiny little smile curved one corner of her mouth. "You got a good power there. You must be a force to reckon with."

That took the edge off of her anger, making things safe from her wrath for the time being. She gave Phoebe's hands a little squeeze. "Piper has a son. That's really surprising, considering we all thought she was having a little girl." She remembered seeing the picture of Piper's daughter when they had traveled into the future. And yet again there was a pang to her heart, remembering how in that future she had been nothing but a workaholic with no man in her life. And now she was going to die. No husband, no children. She didn't have a future. But maybe if she never left here, she could have a life for herself.

Telling her about her new power had the desired effect. It helped ease off the pressure Phoebe had been feeling from Prue's emotions, and it helped Prue calm down. "Thanks. It took a lot of getting used to...it wasn't as bad as that time you were empathic, but it can still sometimes be overwhelming." She had better control of it now, and could focus it a little better, thankfully.

"You wouldn't believe how surprised Piper was when we told her it was a boy." She grinned. "It even took a few days to think of a name. She was trying for a 'P' at first." She understood how Prue was feeling, and squeezed her hands in return. "You know, maybe you'll be here for a while, with me and Paige and Wyatt. You could have a new life here." It may have been selfish, but Phoebe didn't want Prue to go back to her own time-it'd be losing her all over again.

"Trust me, I understand. I'm glad you're having a better time of it than I did." She didn't want her little sister to experience that pain she had. Even isolating herself in the basement hadn't helped ease it at all. Though Prue did miss that rush of power she had when she finally learned how to channel the power and went Super Witch for a couple minutes.

"It must have been a Kodak moment when your told her it was a boy." The little smile widened a bit more on her face. "Wyatt's named after Leo, isn't he?" As Phoebe said that about having a new life here, Prue's smile softened. "I would like that. I'd like to get to know Paige and Wyatt, and be here with you." Why would she want to go back home when she was just going to die? She would much rather be here with her sisters and be alive. She could do some good here and that's what she would focus on. "It's good to know I have family here. I think I'd go insane from worry about being the only one here and wondering who was taking care of you guys back home." As always, she was worried about who would take care of her family. And it continued to help in calming her down and getting other things on her mind.

"Yeah, she named him for Leo." Which was pretty good in her opinion, though she was still sometimes sad that he didn't have a P name. "She's actually pregnant again, where...or when, I guess, I come from. With a boy-he's going to be named Chris." Which was a whole 'nother story.

Phoebe smiled again when Prue said she liked being here and being with them. "I think Paige was feeling pretty lonely. Before I showed up, she was the only one from our universe here, really." Paige had mentioned someone named Kira, but Phoebe didn't know her...so she didn't quite count. "Then it was me, Wyatt, and now you." She leaned over and hugged her again.

"You really don't know how happy I am to see you, Prue."

"Pregnant again? And with another boy named Chris? How do you know it's a boy and that's his name?" It was hard for Prue to hear all of this. She had wanted to be there with her sisters when they started families. Now she had two nephews that she never would know. Er, she'd be able to get to know Wyatt here. She had so many family members she'd never know. Again, she felt that pang of anger towards the powers that be for taking her away from her family.

"Well, she doesn't have to be lonely anymore now. Her family is here now." The smile on her face had faded a bit, the war of emotions taking hold of her again. "I think I have an idea of how happy you are." She wanted to make the promise of not going anywhere and being here always, but in light of everything Phoebe had told her, she couldn't make that promise. Fate had a strange way of working. She only hoped that she didn't get brought here just to die. If that would be the case, there would be one hell of a pissed off Prue in the afterlife.

"Long story short, Wyatt's not the only nephew of ours who has shown up from the future...only, not here. It was in my time. Chris is..." She hesitated, thinking it over. "A lot more like Leo than he realizes. He's pretty neurotic sometimes, but the future he was from was pretty bad. He came back in time to fix it...and I only hope it worked." Since this Wyatt was of the good, she was guessing it had.

Phoebe smiled at Prue's words about Paige not having to be lonely. She was simply glad they were all together.

There was a lot more she'd have to tell her eventually, but she just looked over at Prue. "Do you have any other questions at the moment, or have you gotten enough for now?"

There was a lot of time traveling that had been going on in Phoebe's world. She too hoped that Chris had been able to fix his future. Prue wanted everyone in her family to have a good, bright future, not a bad one. "I hope it worked, too. All of our family deserves a good future."

She had so many questions now, unable to be curious about what happened to Phoebe and Piper after she had died. And she couldn't help but wonder what had happened between Phoebe and Cole, though she didn't really want to raise that issue since it had greatly divided them before. And besides, she still felt she was right about him. "I really don't mean to drag this up considering how hot of a topic it was between us, but, what happened with you and Cole?" She really didn't want to upset Phoebe, or herself, if Cole was still in the picture in the time Phoebe came from, but she really wanted to know.

"Yeah, we do. Judging by Wyatt, we have one." Phoebe smiled sadly, though, because Prue wasn't in the future to share it. When she asked the next question, her smile faded, and she looked down. "Cole...god, so much has happened since you....since I last saw you."

But Prue deserved to know the truth, right? She took a deep breath, then continued. "He...he stayed good, for a long time. He helped me and Piper and Paige, with vanquishing demons and protecting us. We managed to vanquish his demon half, Belthazor, and we...became engaged. Not long after, we didn't know it but...when he tried to save me from the Source, he actually ended up absorbing the Source's power." She took a deep breath, then let it out slowly. "While...while under it's influence, he...got me to marry him in a dark ceremony. A lot of things happened, but...I became pregnant." She looked over at Prue then. "But the baby...it was nothing of me, or Cole. It was the Source's. When I found out about Cole being evil, I....I left him."

She had to pause again. This was painful to tell. "I loved him too much to stay away. I went back to him and I....I became Queen of the Underworld. But when Piper and the others attacked him...I helped vanquish him. Eventually, I managed to get a divorce, just as he...came back." Phoebe shook her head, still a little amazed at what he'd done. "He tried to win me back for a while...but then he...he just kept trying to get me and the others to kill him. He said he didn't want to live without me. We..we tried to vanquish him and it made him...unstoppable." By now, her eyes were filled with tears at the memories, and her hands were clenched in her lap. "Then he...went evil..completely, and did some sort of weird spell. Paige knew what was happening and after she reverted the world to normal...we vanquished him completely."

She sniffled a little, one hand moving to wipe her eyes. "You...you were right about him, Prue."

Prue mirrored Phoebe's sad smile, knowing that the aforementioned future had no place for her in it. But regardless, being the oldest sister and the self-proclaimed protector of her sisters, Prue wanted them to have a good and happy future.

As she listened to Phoebe tell her everything that had happened with Cole, she shifted a bit closer to her, her arms wrapping around Phoebe protectively and held her close. She had always stood against Cole and took his conversion to good with a large helping of salt, but even with that, she knew Phoebe loved him. Despite all the fights they had had about Cole, there was a part of her that hadn't wanted to be right about him. It was difficult to hear all the pain and torment he had caused after her death.

"Oh, Phoebe," she said finally after Phoebe finished her tale. "I wish I could have been there or done something to help you when he went evil." She gently stroked Phoebe's hair, trying to give her some measure of comfort. She was trying to imagine what it would feel like to have been in Phoebe's position, watching Cole turn evil, then being pregnant with a child that hadn't even been hers. She felt another wave of anger rush through her. She had very strong desire to seek out the Source and destroy him for having put Phoebe through that.

It was rare for Prue to be at a loss for words, but she was right now. But now knowing that Phoebe was an empath, she let her sister feel what she couldn't find the words to say. She felt immense love and admiration for Phoebe for having gone through all those ups and downs and still have come out the other side. There was also great anger directed at the Source and Cole. There was no quicker way to make Prue angry than to mess with her sisters. As the emotions continued to swirl around inside her, Prue just held Phoebe close to her, smoothing her hair gently just the way she always did when comforting her. "I'm not going to say anything mean or scathing about Cole, especially after everything you went through with him and because of him. But I really admire your inner strength for getting through it."
