Prue mirrored Phoebe's sad smile, knowing that the aforementioned future had no place for her in it. But regardless, being the oldest sister and the self-proclaimed protector of her sisters, Prue wanted them to have a good and happy future.
As she listened to Phoebe tell her everything that had happened with Cole, she shifted a bit closer to her, her arms wrapping around Phoebe protectively and held her close. She had always stood against Cole and took his conversion to good with a large helping of salt, but even with that, she knew Phoebe loved him. Despite all the fights they had had about Cole, there was a part of her that hadn't wanted to be right about him. It was difficult to hear all the pain and torment he had caused after her death.
"Oh, Phoebe," she said finally after Phoebe finished her tale. "I wish I could have been there or done something to help you when he went evil." She gently stroked Phoebe's hair, trying to give her some measure of comfort. She was trying to imagine what it would feel like to have been in Phoebe's position, watching Cole turn evil, then being pregnant with a child that hadn't even been hers. She felt another wave of anger rush through her. She had very strong desire to seek out the Source and destroy him for having put Phoebe through that.
It was rare for Prue to be at a loss for words, but she was right now. But now knowing that Phoebe was an empath, she let her sister feel what she couldn't find the words to say. She felt immense love and admiration for Phoebe for having gone through all those ups and downs and still have come out the other side. There was also great anger directed at the Source and Cole. There was no quicker way to make Prue angry than to mess with her sisters. As the emotions continued to swirl around inside her, Prue just held Phoebe close to her, smoothing her hair gently just the way she always did when comforting her. "I'm not going to say anything mean or scathing about Cole, especially after everything you went through with him and because of him. But I really admire your inner strength for getting through it."
