WHO: Davina Claire and Kol Mikaelson
WHEN: After this conversation with Cami
WHERE: Kol's place
WHAT: Davina confronts her fears
RATING: TBC
STATUS: In progress

Davina was determined - determined to face her fears, determined to get answers, determined to find a resolution, one way or another. She had left Cami at Starbucks and headed straight to where she'd found out Kol was living. She didn't know if he was there - he might still be with that red-headed girl - but she knew she had to try. Cami had been right in saying that she couldn't just carry on overthinking everything and torturing herself over the situation. She needed to know what Kol was thinking, how he was feeling. At least, then, she'd have some kind of closure, even if she didn't get the answer she wanted.

Davina paused when she came in sight of Kol's closed door, her stomach lurching horribly. This was tough. It was scary in a whole new way. She'd faced psychotic vampires. She'd faced murderous witches. She'd even faced death. But facing up to things like emotions and feelings was a lot harder. She felt bare and exposed - vulnerable. But she knew she needed to act. Sitting back and doing nothing, like she had been, wasn't an option any more.

Taking a deep breath, Davina marched the rest of the way to Kol's door, lifted her fist and knocked, loudly, three times, before standing back slightly, her heart hammering in her chest, to wait for a response.

(OOC: I didn't know where you have Kol living so, if some of this doesn't work, just let me know and I'll edit.)

[OOC: I don't really know where he lives either. Housing isn't really very easy to figure out here :P]

It had been several weeks since Kol turned up here. There was no way to return home but Kol wasn't extremely broken up about that. He was in no rush to return to his family drama. His mother and Finn were reason enough to stay here. Niklaus was the other reason. Though his brother appeared to be here. Not from their time which made him even more dangerous if you asked Kol. Especially while he was in this body. Which was why since he's been here he's been on a mission to find a way to protect himself from his brother given that in his new body there was an infinite number of things his brother could do to him. He's included a few people in on this but only a select few that he's managed to consider some sort of ally since arriving here.

Kol had been going over some things when there was a knock at the door. He quickly collected the papers and books he had out and shoved them into the hiding place in his bedroom. Kol came back out and answered the door.

"Davina?" He was a bit surprised to see her on the other side of the door. He hadn't been expecting her or anyone to stop by.

He wasn't there. She'd come for nothing. He was probably out, maybe with the red-head. It wasn't her fault that he wasn't there - she'd tried. She'd tried to do what Cami had told her to, she'd tried to face her fears. Just coming here had been an achievement in itself. She could go home knowing that she had been brave and tried to face her problems.

She was about to turn and leave when she heard the click of the door latch. Her eyes wide and nervous, she watched the door swing open to reveal Kol. He was, as usual, gorgeous. She'd thought so since the moment she'd met him. Of course, she'd thought he was Kaleb then but she hadn't ever been able to deny her attraction to him.

Crap, why did he have to have been home? Now she had to do something. She'd thought over and over the things she wanted to say to him on her way but everything seemed to have fluttered out of her head. Her heart was racing and she could feel we cheeks growing hot. She couldn't gauge how Kol was feeling to seeing her here on his doorstep - all she could make out on his face was surprise. Good surprise? Bad surprise? Had he wanted to see her? Maybe he really had been ignoring her and was surprised that she'd been dumb enough not to get the message. Maybe that kiss hadn't meant as much to him as it had to her. Maybe...

God, why was she standing here thinking about maybes when the one person who could make everything clear was standing right in front of her. It was just that talking seemed like an insurmountable challenge. If only she could say what she was thinking without actually having to speak.

There was something she could do, which wouldn't involve words, but it was something that would make her so incredibly vulnerable, something that terrified her to her core but also something which thoroughly excited her.

Gritting her teeth, holding her breath, Davina took the few short steps forward to close the distance between Kol and her. She wasn't thinking, just acting. If she thought, she'd stop herself. Reaching up to clasp his face between her warm palms, Davina pushed herself up onto tiptoes and pressed her mouth to Kol's, completing the kiss which had been left so unresolved for her. She wanted to know how Kol felt, whether that kiss had meant anything, and how better to find out than by replaying the moment? And, if it hadn't meant anything, if her fears had been right, then at least she'd gotten a kiss goodbye.

More or less Kol was just surprised. He hadn't been expecting anyone and without those Vampire senses he hadn't known who was on the other side of the door. The hearing was something he missed. That was more because he heard a lot more than he did in this body.

It wasn't that he didn't want to see her… he had just been preoccupied. Since Kol turned up here he had been focused on one single thing. Finding the items and things he would need to protect himself against his brother if he needed it. It didn't matter that people swore that Nik was much different here. Much different than the person they all knew. He spent too many years daggered, laying inside a box at the hands of his brother. He knew exactly the kind of person Niklaus was and will always be.

Before he could say anything else she was coming towards him. And just like that she was pressing her lips to his. Kol gave into the kiss before eventually pulling back.

"That's one way to greet someone," he teased.

Davina caught her breath as she drew away from him, her hand lifting automatically to her mouth, covering the offending lips as she shied away. That had been forward, very forward, and she couldn't tell whether it had paid off or not. Kol was over a thousand years old and, over that time, he'd managed to make himself almost impossible to read. Still, she didn't think he was angry or irritated. If anything, he seemed amused.

A little frown formed on Davina's forehead as she peered up at him, her eyes wide and nervous.

"We had some unfinished business," she replied, her hand dropping from her lips back to her side. She was glad to hear that her voice sounded steady and strong, even though she felt like jelly on the inside. "I don't like leaving things half done."

(OOC: I'm sorry I took so long to reply to this. Starting the new job has been breaking my brain.)
